The incredible upfront talent in Melbourne
Playing his own brand of house ranging from deep shuffles to bumpin tech; Luke is known for pushing and pulling his audience with dubs and vocals with a funk thread throughout. With a broad musical background; Lukes current focus is on the electronic house, made for the dancefloor. Over 15 years playing to audiences across Melbourne has lead to a strong following, and reputation for technical skills and ability to move a floor with unique tunes.
Never commercial, but always accessible
Born out of a passion for music, Lukes DJ career was encouraged into existence by Melbourne DJ Andrew Menner in 1994. A lifelong obsession with music has included eight years of jazz and classical trumpet, and journeys through countless genres and sub-genres of music. The investment of time standing behind turntables has left him with a penchant for dark rooms and fresh beats.
Luke has produced mixes for releases from Inaya Day, Neurotic Jock, Cam Farrar, Groovehunter and Jan Driver. He's appeared on Melbourne labels Vinyl Pusher and Vicious Vinyl, as well as Eric Morillos Sondos imprint (US). In 2006, Luke started his own record label - Drum Ride Recordings, with four digital, and two 12" releases to date. He has also scored music for various media applications; including television. Luke presents a weekly radio show focussing on electronic house with DJ Frisky - "The Drum Ride" every Saturday 6-8pm on Kiss FM Melbourne (www.kissfm.com.au).
In Melbourne, Luke holds residencies at Tramp and The Market; as well as running parties under his Snap Crackle moniker. Hes played alongside international acts such as Felix Da Housecat, Kenny Dope, Deep Dish, Metro Area, Ian Pooley, Mark Farina, Chris Lum, Switch, Joey Negro, Joe T Vanelli and DJ Garth, and shared bills with a list of DJs that reads like a whos who of the global scene.
We've put together a free ebook that shows the major mistakes people make when they're trying to promote themselves online. We're giving this information out to pretty much everybody we can find so if you want to keep up with the same info then please have a free download on us.
