LUKE ESCOMBE PRESENTS GOLDEN AGES 09
Step out of the darkness and into the Golden Age
Unique is a word that is often thrown around recklessly in press releases, particularly when it is used in regards to musicians. It was thrown so hard at Luke Escombe after his last sold out show at the Basement that he developed a serious illness and nearly died. This was very bad news for his just finished debut album Golden Ages, which had to spend the next few months living like a homeless chap inside a cardboard box.
Following an extensive tour of hospital wards and clinics, where one nurse enjoyed Luke’s songs so much she would whistle them while violating him in the most terrible ways in the name of science, he returned home to his sofa to recuperate. As his album began to forge a carefree hobo existence, finding friends all across Australia and the world thanks to community radio and the internet, he fluffed up his cushions and set about writing some brand new tunes.
Luke comes to Raval, at the Macquarie Hotel on Friday December 4th for an exclusive show.
He will be launching his captivating debut record Golden Ages and presenting a selection of new material from what has been one of the strangest, darkest and most inspirational years of his life. With support from Melbourne-based Ryan Meeking plus the legendary Lanie Lane, and with his formidable band of jazz cats and cool kittens in tow, he hopes to blow away any lingering demons and turn the Sydney night into gold.
Luke Escombe presents:
