  • Bio

Bright lights, smoke-filled arena, pyrotechnics you only see on TV, and the most energetic entertainer of all time, singing the most raw, real, and uncut cowboy music a kid at the age of 11 had ever heard. This explains Luke Kaufman’s first experience at a live concert. The young cowboy was not only captivated by the adrenaline of the crowd, but the pure excitement of the entertainer, 1976 World Champion Bareback Rider and Nashville Recording Artist, Chris LeDoux. LeDoux set the standard for what “Cowboy Music” should and could sound like, winning over cowboy and non-cowboy fans all across the country. From that point on, Luke Kaufman knew music was his passion. He started out paying his dues playing behind rodeo arenas and in parking lots for his friends and family after junior rodeos. After high school and through college, his passion for music stayed the same, and from then on things really picked up for the Carolina Cowboy. In 2008, Luke Kaufman teamed up with Sunny Ledfurd, a North Carolina artist who had put out a record for the PBR a few years prior and was well in with the cowboy world and understood the type of music that Kaufman wanted to make, and Ledfurd didn’t mind breaking rules to do it. In January of 2010, “Cowboy Baller”, Luke’s first album, was released with the help of Ledfurd Recurds and has swept the rodeo and bull riding world. True cowboy songs that are coming from the perspective of a real-life cowboy and not some yuppie from Nashville are from front to back on this album. All the songs the album are first-hand accounts from Kaufman’s life as a cowboy. “Broncin”, the high speed adrenaline filled song that describes in detail about riding bucking horses will make even the faintest of heart want nod his head. And the slower cowboy ballad “Cowboys Angel”, depicts life on the road traveling year round to rodeos and having to leave your family at home. But probably the most popular song, is the first track on the album, “Rank Riders Anthem”, which is a dynamite intro song that’s upbeat and energetic and in 2010, has been used every week as the opening “hot song” at the Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series Events. And with the new release of his debut album, Luke has toured across the nation from rodeo and bull riding arenas, from deep in the heart of Texas, on up into the Northwest of Oregon and Washington, and has confident grip on the rodeo and bull riding industry on the entire east coast. One thing is for certain, Luke Kaufman will definitely be the musical voice of the modern-day cowboy.
