  • Bio

Luke Walker has been producing and DJing since he first discovered electronic music in the early 2000’s. Inspired by legends in the New Zealand scene, particularly Greg Churchill, his very first EP ‘Alias’ was signed to the illustrious Underwater Records. This was his first break back in 2005 and was the 3rd highest selling record on Beatport for 2005. From here, Luke made two EP's with DJ Loki for Gung-ho! ('Seamrider' and 'Alpaca'). He also dropped the Mayhem EP which made its way into the DMC WMC and New Release buzz charts and the Cool Cuts chart. 2008 saw him DJing in Japan, Barcelona, Hong Kong, Thailand, London and New Zealand and the release of 'Find your Way'. The track was played by Andy George and Jaymo on BBC Radio 1 and featured on the Ministry of Sound Underground Compilation 2008. Four years on from his first signing Luke decided a move to the dance capital of the world was the best way to push on in his career. Since arriving in London in 2009, he’s played in Spain and the UK and been taken on as a new resident for the Ministry of Sound International team playing tours across the world from Japan to Colombia. He's also brought his Rekonnekted party to London and started new club night 'One Night Stand' with 10 Rapid, Kristie Van and Danny Scott. Production wise he’s been very busy since setting up his studio in the capital. A remix for label mates Burn the Negative made the DMC Buzz Chart and was picked up for the Global Underground 2010 compilation. His Hyaa!! EP was released on Gung-ho Recordings in March with support from Autokratz and Groove Armada. He’s also remixed the Japanese Popstars new single ‘Let Go’ featuring Green Velvet as well as Eddie Temple Morris’ band the Losers. 2011 will see new original releases, more remixes and tours as well as a return trip to New Zealand to play two dates in his home town Auckland. His DJ sets range from bass heavy house to electro and techno.
