LUMIA formed in perth, WA in 2008 and played their first show to very satisfied mojo's crowd on jan 11 2009.
LUMIA combines the scorching vocals of Danah Mithchell, the haunting guitar of Jason Millar and strong rhythm section featuring bass player Mark Bowering and drummer Steve Thorp. The band pumps out a huge sound that sits somewhere between the dark grooves of massive attack circa mezzanine and the intense guitar of radiohead circa ok computer done with powerful female vocals.
Having spent the majority of 2009 playing a steady stream of shows around perth honing the live set and recording a 4 track demo, the band is currently in the studio with guitarist / producer Jason Millar recording their debut double A side single planned for national release in February 2010.
