INTERNATIONAL BREAKTHROUGH
Sziget Festival (Budapest, 14.08.2005 ) was our first international appearance.
During 2005-2007, LUNA AMARA was invited as an opening act for such bands as:
HIM ; APOCALYPTICA; PARADISE LOST; CLAWFINGER; AMORPHIS;HELLACOPTERS;TOY DOLLS; MY DYING BRIDE.
LUNA AMARA has also played abroad, in Republic of MOLDOVA (three times). GERMANY(three times), HOLLAND (once), FRANCE(once), HUNGARY (three times), BULGARIA(twice), TURKEY (once)
BITTER MOON (LUNA AMARA) is an alternative/metal band, founded in September 1999, in Cluj-Napoca/ROMANIA, that combines rock music with punk/hardcore/nu-metal influences, with spicy trumpet solos.
With over 300 concerts throughout Romania during the past eight years, BITTER MOON has obtained cult status. BITTER MOON is one of the few Romanian bands that sport a strong social message. Because some of our song lyrics attack the post-communist system and mentalities, BITTER MOON has been the subject of censorship acts and have had two open-air concerts interrupted (after two or three songs having been played).
BITTER MOON (LUNA AMARA) is involved in ecological projects such as "Save Vama Veche" (protecting the Black Sea ecosystem), "Save Rosia Montana" (protecting the ecosystem of a historical gold mining area from possible cyanide poisoning) and social awareness projects, such as last year's "Vote for Them Tour", organized to convince young adults to vote.
