Technology, theology, cyberpunk, metaphysics, art, music, polyamory, and most of those "fringe" things that make a lot of people uncomfortable :)
Now, of course, when you read that you're inclined to automatically think I'm one of the freaky types.
I'm not.
I am parts of those things and yet none of them as you and others perceive them. Life is too short to throw around labels and, seriously, in terms of "getting to know" me that is only the tip of the iceberg as I'm sure it would be with you.
Let's accept that, more accurately, I have an open and educated mind which finds many things in life fascinating or, at the very least, worth listening to or learning about.
I am, and enjoy things, both modern and yet old fashioned.
I am bound by a "code" that sums up my life experiences and beliefs which guide me to be a "good" person without having to rely on other's, or any religion's, definitions of what a "good person" is.
I find myself increasingly opposed to societal norms where people seem to believe certain things are "acceptable" now that definitely weren't not all that long ago. People generally display a lack of courtesy for their fellow humans or any sense of manners and this really bothers me.
I hate, and I hate few things, zealots. If you are so foamingly overwhelmed by your beliefs, that you have given up your humanity and right to an open mind capable of free thinking and accepting another person's opinion or beliefs without forcing your own on others, then you are not anyone I wish to associate with. You will bring out my aggressive side and make me want to do bad things or, at the very least, become ill in your presence and feel an overwhelming need to depart before the afformentioned aggressiveness occurs. :)
I dislike liars and people with no honor.
I am shy and quiet as I said unless I've found someone interesting in which case I will talk for hours or if I'm in the presence of a female I find interesting I will babble like the nerd idiot I am.
I'm mostly a hermit and that is simply because I find my "old fashioned" and "idealistic" views of how things should be are almost always opposed to how things "are" and people find me "weird" because they do not understand anything else than the world they live in.
Things should be different. They aren't but they should be. This should bother you.
I find Japanese culture more to my ways because they still believe in things like honor, courtesy, and treating others with respect. I served in the Marine Corps for 6 years and 5 of those were in Okinawa Japan.
Now all of this probably makes me sound very odd and very stoic. Well.. perhaps.. but not really. I far more enjoy joking around than I do getting "too" serious and I do not sweat the small stuff very often in life. It is, after all, very short and meant to be lived.
Music
I like many different types of music but am not fond of several styles. I like nearly anything with a synthesizer from "new age" to "industrial".
I get annoyed at over expressive anal breaking down of music genres. If you tell me, with your smug smile, that you listen to "neo classical industrial death pop orchestral black victorian metal" I am likely to laugh at you for the "cool" moron you are.
Movies
I'm more prone to the sci-fi and fantasy genre though I enjoy a good drama, thriller, or comedy.
Television
They usually kill the shows I really like but Sci-Fi channel, CNN, Comedy Central, Discovery, and whoever's playing Law And Order CI or SVU are definitely enjoyable. That is to say when I actually watch TV.
Books
I used to read more... kinda sad. Rice, Tolkien, Asperin, Chalker, Cherryh, Hambley, Constantine, Anthony, Moorcock oh there's really too many....
Heroes
Anyone who truly has the balls to be different than the norm, stand by their convictions in the face of overwhelming opposition, and strives to be a good person regardless of religious beliefs, societal norms, or pressure to follow the herd.
The artist Kim Kaiser (sometimes known as Luna) has been creating visual art since he delved back into it in 1997. Formerly an electronics tech, machine maintenance person, and having education in drafting and engineering, you can often see his technical side come through in his works. Given that he's usually listening to various music, while creating his visual works, it seemed a natural offshoot to tinker with music itself. Thus "The Lunarium" was born in 2003.
Kim enjoys a rather hermitous life, creating works in his home studio, and enjoying time with his awesome wife Melissa and baby girl Ember. He is always willing to entertain remixes for others, cover art, or coffee with fellow artists; of any form.
