The Lunatic Vagabonds were founded in 2006 by Mia, Kali and Rhee, using traditional belly dance movements with alternative music. They were quickly joined by Carena and Danica, adding their vocal and fire spinning talents to the group.

Mia~ Artistic Director: Mia has always liked to do things a bit differently and bellydance is no exception. She teamed up with Kali and founded the Lunatic Vagabonds in 2005 and together they began pushing the bellydance limits. Mia is also artistic director for Unveiled Bellydance - Ann Arbor.

Kali~ Has been belly dancing since 1999 starting with Mirage Middle Eastern Ensemble, The Daughters of Peace, and Aiiwa. More recently co-founded the Lunatic Vagabonds to explore using a variety of belly dance technique blended with alternative music.

Rhee~ is a professional actress, trained in stage combat and a variety of weapons. She has recently completed her first feature length screenplay and hopes to soon find funding to have it produced. Some of her favorite people are Joss Whedon, the Mezmer Society, Smash Mouth and her close friends and family. Rhee started dancing with Aiiwa and was a founding member of the Lunatic Vagabonds.

Carena~ was introduced to belly dancing through Kali back in 2000, learning cabaret and folk styles of Middle Eastern dance. In 2007, after a 5 year break from dancing to focus on university studies local and abroad, she was again introduced to the tribal fusion style of belly dancing through the Lunatic Vagabonds, bringing singing talents to a variety show near you!

Danica~ Started dancing back in 2005 with Jasmine Curtis in Grand Rapids, MI. Shortly after moving to Detroit, she continued to dance with various other instuctors and took part in The Hot Damn Variety Shows. In 2007, she was asked by Kali to join the Lunatic Vagabonds and bringing her skills as a fire performer to the troupe.

The Vagabonds have hosted and put together variety shows, workshops and haflas. They have also had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Voltaire, World Famous Brett, Kami Liddle and The Memzer Society to name a few.

The Lunatic Vagabonds aren't your everyday variety of dancers....They are bellydance with a twist...
