Chi sono: Through a late night conspiracy broadcast, a frantic caller claims human beings from the future are living on the moon, controlling our every
action. His call is cut short, but when a box of unusual materials arrives at the radio station several days later, filmmakers Matt and Sonny
become involved and pursue the story, following the lead and chasing a set of hidden coordinates deep into Louisiana’s Atchafalaya Basin.
An enormous and dark underground facility reveals there may be more truth to the caller’s story than believed, and quickly entangles the
filmmakers in uncovering a history that was meant to be long forgotten. They narrowly escape with one unusual artifact, but soon find themselves
in a threatening encounter with the bizarre and reclusive Church of Lunology, an organization very dedicated to keeping their mysterious secrets,
and silencing anyone who stands in their way.
Now on the run, they flee their homes only to encounter David James, a man who claims to have escaped from the moon as a child. His
interview provides much needed answers, and even a solution to their problem. Committed to protecting themselves by filming their story, they
keep the cameras rolling as they discover earth’s secret history, and fight to survive a hunt that would have already taken their lives, if they
weren’t in possession of one unusual artifact.
Time is almost up, but their story cannot end until they face head-on the most powerful and secret organization in the world…

Filmmaker Matthew Avant and co-producer Sonny Maynor launch their feature film debut with the exciting mock-documentary film 'LUNOPOLIS', the story of the city on the moon.
The movie follows the story of two small-time filmmakers who accidentally uncover proof of a hidden city on the moon, and the secret global network determined to make sure it stays that way. On the run and committed to protecting themselves by filming their story, they keep the cameras rolling as they uncover earth's secret history, and the mysterious lunar artifact responsible. Touching on almost every conspiracy known to man, LUNOPOLIS creates a very entertaining blend of fact and fiction, resulting in a compelling and believable film that offers a surprisingly simple explanation for every supernatural anomaly, paranormal mystery and conspiracy theory in human history.
"I tossed around a lot of ideas. Some even came close to production, but in the end I kept raising the bar so we could never settle on a mediocre story. With all of the low budget indies and web films competing in the marketplace, I knew we first had to develop a truly interesting idea, then find just the right way to express it. UFO's, time travel and the paranormal are a favorite subject of all of ours, and it is certainly a very popular topic among many others as well, so it was a perfect fit. Add to that a city on the moon, a secret worldwide organization, a magic stone and a couple of guys who 'catch it all on tape', you've quickly got a story packed to the gills with potential."
Early screenings revealed the film had appeal with a wider audience than originally expected. Writer/Director Matthew Avant notes, "Both young and old viewers alike have responded favorably; the young people respond well to the intensity of the story and the supernatural elements, the older crowd appreciates the new spin we've given to the subject of history and it's connection to our future." How exactly did they accomplish that you ask? "Let's just say we spiced it all up a little. It gives everyone a new reason to explore history and examine what's hidden between the lines. It also offers us a good reason to examine our future and what it might be like if people don't change." Taking a tongue-in-cheek perspective on history and the way we look at it, the filmmakers challenge through parody the reasons we believe (or disbelieve) society's conventional understanding of truth. Shown through the eye of a documentary lens this story unravels as simply and believably as reality television from an not-so alternate universe.
"These days most of us receive our education from TV and movies anyway, but just as with real history most of it is wrong because there are always two sides to every story. I have forever been fascinated by the vast potential in our 'forgotten' history, and we wanted to explore that possibility in a believable and realistic way. No ray guns or velcro suits, just good story telling and a compelling story... and by the way, we explain why December 21, 2012 is so important. It's really quite simple actually."
LUNOPOLIS begins making the festival circuit this week.
