Listening to music (particularly progressive rock), watching sports, movies, good TV and going to concerts. I recently took up the acoustic guitar, but it has yet to take me up. Check out my show's website at www.epicprog.net.
Music
Recently Played Tracks:
Movies
I love comedies, but I'm also a huge sci-fi/fantasy geek. Also, I enjoy a good drama or action flick. Some faves: Serenity, Slapshot, Lord of the Rings, Caddyshack, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight etc.
Television
Favorite current show is Leverage on TNT. I'm also watching LOST, Bones, Fringe, Life on Mars, Chuck, Scrubs, Heroes, CSI, Friday Night Lights, The Office, Battlestar Galactica, Dr. Who, How I Met Your Mother, and Supernatural. Thank God for TIVO! My favorite show ever was Firefly, followed by Seinfeld. Also, I watch a lot of sports.
Books
All-time fave: "The Stand" by Stephen King. I'm a huge fan of King and have all his books. I'm also quite big on "The Dark Tower" series and Terry Pratchett's Discworld books. Other authors I enjoy are Chuck Palahniuk, Orson Scott Card, Anne McCaffrey, Kurt Vonnegut, John Varley, Tim Matheson, Peter Straub, Earnest Hemingway, and J.R.R. Tolkien, among others.
Heroes
Anyone who saves lives or puts themselves in harm's way for the betterment of everyone else. In a pop culture sense, the entire cast of Firefly/Serenity, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, David Gilmour, Chris Squire, Joss Whedon, comedian Brian Regan, J.R.R. Tolkien, Stephen King...I could go on for hours.
About me: I'm a huge fan of progressive music and host an internet radio program on Friday nights at www.progrock.com. The 4-hour program, called Epic Prog with The Lurker, spotlights the longer tracks in prog rock, mixed in among the best progressive music of yesterday and today, every Friday from 8 p.m. to midnight (EST).
This isn't like your typical radio show. Basically, I'm just a music fan, who is inviting you into my home for a few hours each Friday night and sharing my music collection with you. If you can't listen in or join us in the chat room on Friday nights, it's cool. You can check out the show anytime you like, through the magic of our weekly archive/podcast by RIGHT CLICKING HERE and choosing the "save target as" option. Feel free to stop by and hang out with me and some other like-minded music fans each Friday, or listen to the podcast.
