About me:
Covent Garden is a lively backdrop for a busy, vibrant, lushious shop.
The site started its life as a monastery garden owned by Westminster Abbey in the 13th Century. It later developed into a small fruit and vegetable market, around 1649, which survived the Great Fire of London and came close to being demolished in 1973, only to become the retail outlet, stage for performers, and market that so excites tourists and locals alike today.
Lush started in a small shop, unit 7, on the corner by the opera house. The same Unit 7 that featured in the film "My Fair Lady" staring Audrey Hepburn, making the location one of Lush founder, Mark Constantine's favourites.
Unit 7 closed in 2001 and our present location, Unit 11, opened in 1996, meaning the company had two shops in the Piazza at the time.
In 2003 Lush became one of the Sunday Times top 100 companies to work for and then in 2005, for our 10th birthday, we were given a lovely refit and joined by our sister company B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful, selling luxurious cosmetics, and had a massive party to celebrate.
The team are hard working with a passion for the best customer service. We are bright and vibrant with a delight and excitement for amazing products.
So why don't you pop down to Covent Garden, grab a glass of mulled wine from one of the beautiful winter markets and pay us a visit. Find out for yourselves what we're so excited about.
