LUTHER BLISSETT nasce nella primavera dell'anno 2000 come band che nella sua totale individualità aspira a richiamare l'omonimo movimento letterario come pseudonimo della vita reale ed immaginaria dei tre membri fondatori.
Fin da subito si decide di puntare su un progetto di musiche e testi propri vergati con le sensazioni forti delle esperienze di vita vissuta ai margini di una società europea annichilente, suonando del rock n’ roll lisergico a tratti sperimentale, veloce e d'impatto, una vera e propria “bomba all'idrogeno nel centro della città”.
Le numerose influenze musicali danno ai tre elementi nuove venature che richiamano gruppi stoner appartenenti agli anni '90, radici punk e psycho-billy londinesi, atmosfere horror e storie macabre (che ricordano i primi Misfits), consolidando un vero e proprio stile che è denominato ironicamente dal trio come “STONE N' ROLL”.
Dopo aver girato per Inghilterra e Germania la band partecipa nell'anno 2003/2004 al concorso "Emergenza Rock" ed entra nella scena locale suonando in alcuni centri sociali e locali del nord Italia, conoscendo molte realtà musicali indipendenti.
In quel periodo il gruppo registra il primo demo, "Lies Have Short Legs" negli Aton Studio di Padova. In seguito, contattati da David Lenci del Red House Recordings di Senigallia, i Luther Blissett firmano nel 2005 un contratto di co-produzione che prevede l'uscita di un extract album, registrato nel giugno 2005 intitolato "Mediocrity Kills".
Nel giugno 2006 si concludono le registrazioni dell’album “Narcoleptic Surfers”, sempre al Red House, ed il disco esce nel febbraio del 2007 in co-produzione con Vacation House Records di Rudy (voce degli “Indigesti”).
Attualmente la band sta visionando alcune offerte di etichette indipendenti per la registrazione del nuovo disco...
LUTHER BLISSETT was formed in the spring of 2000 as a band that in its total individuality aspires to call upon its literary movement namesake as a pseudonym of the real and imaginary life of the three founding members.
Right from the start, the group decided to compose their own music and lyrics placing at the forefront the ensemble of strong feelings and the experience of living on the fringes of an annihilating European society, free from values, not dealing with the will of redemption and recognition, but playing lysergic rock n’ roll, in some aspects experimental, fast and of high impact upon the listener: an out and out “H-bomb down town”.
The numerous musical influences give the three members new grains that blend 90s stoner with London-style psyco-punk billy, horror atmosphere, macabre stories, strengthening an out and out style which is ironically called “STONE N’ ROLL” by the trio.
After touring England and Germany, the band took part in the “Emergenza Rock Festival” music competition in 2003/2004 and entered the local music scene playing in some squats and pubs in the North of Italy, getting to know many independent music scenes. In that period the band recorded the first demo “Lies have short legs” at the Aton Studio. After, contacted from David Lenci of the Red House Recordings, Luther Blissett signed a contract of co-production in 2005, which foresaw the release of an extract album, recorded on June 2005, entitled “Mediocrity Kills”. On June 2006, while they were still at Red House, the recording of the album “Narcoleptic Surfers” ended. The record came out on February 2007 in co-production with Vacation House Records. At the moment the band is considering accepting some offers made by Italian independent labels for the recording of the new album…

Prima di sospendere la loro attività live, in vista della preparazione del prossimo disco, OJM vogliono offrire ai loro fans un mini-tour speciale, composto di sole poche date in cui suoneranno l'ultimo UNDER THE THUNDER, assieme ad improvvisazioni e assaggi dei nuovi pezzi.
La band si esibirà con alcuni schermi sul palco e una scenografia minimal, che integreranno suoni e colori in un'atmosfera psichedelica creata e diretta da EEVIAC.
BIO EEVIAC
Ha iniziato la sua carriera live visual nel 2001 con la band dEvil. Attualmente accompagna la musica elettronica di Be Invisible Now! con dei video realizzati in tempo reale.
In ambito teatrale ha creato effetti visivi e progettato illuminazioni per diversi spettacoli. Tra i suoi ultimi lavori: nel 2006 un reading dedicato a Dino Buzzati intitolato Paura a Villa Pisani, dove realizza scenografie con proiezioni video su multischermo.
