BBC Three Counties welcomed LYJO back to perform at 2008's Dancers In Need, a charity event with all proceeds donated to Children In Need. The event was featured on Look East, and the video can be seen here. For more pictures, click here.

After winning an outstanding performance award at Music For Youth, a national festival celebrating youth music around the country, LYJO were invited to play at the Royal Albert Hall for the school proms in November. Everyone had a fantastic night, and the band were very well recieved by the 5000 strong audience.

The band returned to National Stage in 2008, and again recieved an award, this time for the Highly Commended Performance.

For the last two years, LYJO have performed at Rhythms Of The World, a music festival held in Hitchin every year, celebrating the thousands of different music cultures.

The Luton Youth Jazz Orchestra started in 2002 from the Stopsley Saturday Morning Music School Jazz Ensemble. LYJO meet every Tuesday evening during term time and perform at many concerts and functions nationally throughout the year. LYJO is conducted by Simon Router.
