Lyricist, songwriter, MC and even singer, it would be an understatement to call Toronto's most dynamic rapper 'talented'. Kyle "Luu Breeze" Willis brings to the table a fresh sound and unmatched swag that is rare to the music industry these days. Raised on all U.S. hip hop coasts music, Luu has been a true hip hop head since the tender age of eight, Breeze works steadily toward his career goals in rap, the sky being his limit.
Born and raised in Scarborough's Orton Park housing project, Breeze knows what it means to struggle. Supported by an inspiring single mother, it became a goal for Breeze to make something of himself; a goal he is currently living up to. His journey began like many others – a love for hip hop leading to street battles, freestyles and cyphers – however, separating Luu Breeze from the ordinary rapper is his strong tie to his cultural roots. Half Jamaican, Half Nova Scotian, Breeze takes pride in his background and has allowed it to become his instrument in creating original music. Breeze has a noteworthy story to tell; a history of himself and of his Nova Scotian people, a story that has yet to be told on a mainstream level. While his flow can satisfy any hip hop lover with a single verse, Breeze has mastered a sense of versatility, With his street influenced life, being a ladies favorite, aswell as his song writing ability and a intense live show, Luu is the complete package that you look for in a artist. And it is the unquestioned balance of Luu as a artist - a balance that conists of a core of street orienatated music, R&B-love flavored music and raw-gritty lyrical music - that branches out to satisfy any type of music fan. But perhaps what is most unique about Luu Breeze as a artist is the heart that is sensed in the music. Luu makes "gut music", music that you feel in your gut, you hear the all out passion in every delivery, of every verse.
Luu Breeze created a solid street buzz through his first street video for "Story Goes On/Prove Something". From there, his foundation was built by numrous features on mixtapes and street DVD's. Luu's first commercial single "Million Dolla Dream" gathered frequent rotation on Toronto's only urban music station, Flow 93.5. But it was Luu Breeze's single "Break Em Off" released in March 2008 which made many worldwide to regard him as "next to blow", the hit single remained number one on Flow 93.5's OTA Live for 4 weeks, only to be beat out by Kardinall Offishal & Akon's "Dangerous". "Break Em Off's" video has been featured on AllHipHop.com, WorldStarHipHop.com and has gathered over 100,000 views online, solitifiying a global following outside of Canada's borders. Releasing The Pre-Topic in the summer of 2008, a prelude to his debut album Topic of Discussion, Luu Breeze continues to set the bar for Canadian artists, planning to take over the U.S. and global scene.
Not only have fans taken a following to Luu Breeze but he is now one of Toronto's most sought after artists from producers and record labels alike. Having already worked with heavy hitting producers The Runners (Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Ludacris etc.), Animal House (Jadakiss, Ol'Dirty Bastard, Mark Ronson, Rhymefest), Mega Man (Blood Raw, G-Unit, Sheek Louch), Beat-Juggernaut (G-Unit & Timabland's artist D.O.E.) and Majik (Jim Jones - "Weatherman"). Breeze continues to collaborate with the some of hip hop's biggest names and major label U.S. interest is nothing new to him, in late 2007 Luu's cousin introduced him to Chaka Zulu (A&R of Disturbing Tha Peace) and after a article in Urbanology magazine, where Luu publicly spoke that him and DTP had a meeting, rumors sored on websites such as AllHipHop.com that he would be the next MC to sign to Disturbing Tha Peace. Luu has also gathered the interest of major label powerhouses like Atlantic Records and has been interviewed on Hip Hop's biggest sites like AllHipHop.com & HipHopDX.com
In October 2008, Luu released a new single "Charge It To The Game" which has become his most played song on radio to date. The video just released for "Charge It To The Game" in February 2009 has gathered over 1.5 millions views on WorldStarHipHop.com and has also been featured on HipHopDX.com, AllHipHop.com & Videos OnSmash, the anticipation for more music and what will happen next grows each passing day. At the same time as the new single and video release, Luu plans to satisfy the fans with more mixtapes and a collaborative mixtape with Scarface co-signed Texas rapper, Spark Dawg. Aswell he plans to keep feeding the people with new singles, videos and just "good music" as Luu constantly stresses. Finally Luu plans to release his debut album Topic of Discussion sometime in 2009 but wants to make sure the right backing is behind it before releasing it.
Dubbed "the voice of urban Canada," Luu Breeze claims he is "ready for the world" and plans on taking the province of Nova Scotia, the city of Toronto and the entire country of Canada on his back with him
