LuvBug Movement was born in 1998 when Patti "Selectress Orthodox" broke away from MerryDisc Jr. to start her own sound. Stephanie "UnityLuv" , her blood sister, would join her and these two girls were un-stoppable. They are first and foremost Rastafari and carry the message of Unity & Luv to the masses who have had the immense pleasure of listening to them. NEVER conforming to the "hype" and NEVER playing "gun bizness" tunes, their posstive message has carried them further than they dreamed. 2000(LUV) no hate, is the year for these ladies. After adding Jessica "DJ Redgurl" on in 2006 , this Trinity of women are ready for the world to hear them. Each girl has her own style, lead by Pattimani (as Perfect named her) with her amazing unending box of DUBPLATES and playing the newest and BEST artists out today.... PZed "Andrew Mystic" of the God Alone Crew (Hero's AMAZINGLY Talented brother), Hero , Meekie Melody & Viper of the God Alone Crew, Perfect, Warrior King, Ghandi, Mr. Peppaseed Dugsy Ranks, Mr. Bertus, Gyptian... the list goes on and on. UnityLuv is the "fire woman" who loves to buss up the dance with the likes of Anthony B., Capleton & Sizzla Kalonji to name a few. And Redgurl adds her knowledge of hip hop and reggae to the mix.
These girls can be seen all over Boston, mainly for REGGAE SUNDAY's at Bill's Bar on Landsdowne St. Boston MA, where they've been going for over 20 years and finally got the opportunity to play there regularly. They have played all over the Northeast from New Hampshire to Vermont, to Maine and even buss up the West Indian Social Club in Hartford in Jan. 2008 for Ghandi Birthday Bash with Gyptian , I Wayne & Ghandi, playing with the infamous EARTH RULER Sound from NY.
What's coming up in 2008 u ask???? As Patti says "I can't pinch myself to wake up from a dream because I could NEVER dream this big", as she prepares for a small tour in Jamaica in June. She will be playing with the amazing IMMORTAL STONE LOVE for Weddy Weddy Wednesdays , with AREA CODE 876 Sound at Hellshire Beach for "Pon Di Beach" in Portmore, and appearing LIVE on HYPE TV with AREA CODE 876's own DJ Too Sweet. Dipping into promotions for "her" artists, Patti says she hopes to bring Hero , PZed and the God Alone Crew to Boston this summer along with many other conscious artists, all the while making sure to keep supporting and promoting her local talent, like Silva Duss, D!Arryval, E.D. Smooth, Journalist & Mento to name just a few. "This is about uniting us all through music and giving thanks to the Almighty for all our blessings".
