"Luxuriator continually remind me that the best pop songs are difficult relationships on the inside, no matter how uncomplicated you perceive them at first glance (or listen). & the best pop songs - like the ones Luxuriator seems to make without the slightest bit of effort - are clever, snarky, emotive & lovely, & invite you to sing along - just like the relationships you want in your life."
- Gary Dickerson, "Self Help Radio," 91.7 fm KOOP Austin
Luxuriator secretly hopes that someday a description such as "quirky and idiosyncratic with a toe tappin' pop sensibility," will be applied, but would never say that themselves. It has been rumored that they have a "way with words." However, they are loath to point that out, because that would draw attention to their poor bio writing skills. Luxuriator will not reveal much, but they will mention that they share two members (Matt, and Kirk) with the most excellent band, The Distant Seconds.
Is it embarrassing to say Self Help Radio can't believe that Luxuriator live is as good as Luxuriator on the digital disc? I await the pointless Spin interviews, the sad MTV blurbs, & the excruciatingly deep Mojo articles with envy. Much much love!
3 questions; Do I need a reservation for S.S.C.? How much is the fare? Is that little gremlin Superstar? I enjoyed the new tunes. I loved the xylo sound.
Why thank you! That's very kind of you. And I like your songs very much too, especially Sugar Substitute. I enjoy songs that won't make you put on weight.
Austin! A lovely town! I was there a few years ago, had drinks at Crocodile Rock.
Thanks for the add, O Fiend (so sorry) FRIEND. In the "Globe of Robyn Hitchcock" all are as Fishes in a Stream of Consciousness searching for the hook of Friendship and waiting to be served up on a plate of beautiful pop culture with a side sauce of psychedelic art and rice (hold the Condoleezza)
