The Lehigh Valley Acoustic Performers Contest (LVAPC) is an annual event by local musicians for local musicians that showcases acoustic songwriting talent in the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania, of all genres and musical styles. Originally started by Steve Walker, the first Grand Prize Winner Leechboy took over for the 2005 and 2006 contest before getting a development deal and moving to Nashville. Since 2007 former Grand Prize Winner Ricky Bell and a team of past winners and friends continue to organize this annual event.
This site is for the promotion of that talent, the event itself, and fans of music in general. Check the blog for the Official Rules and Prizes.

he told me that it was just a pleasure to be there and to hear (and meet) the other great performers. I LOVE that about this particular event. it has always had that healthy vibe...just a lot of mutual-admiration and networking going on. it's not REALLY about "winning."
like TONIGHT: Ricky invited Scott to play with him at his gig at the Center Valley Tavern tonight. I don't think they knew each other before this contest. brings a tear to my eye. :-)
THANK YOU to all the judges for devoting their time to this...and OF COURSE to all the terrific performers that are NOT mentioned on this page specifically. i know *i* got turned on to some more great local artists from this experience. it never ceases to amaze me.
Congratulations to Scott McDonald, winner of week #1. Many thanks to those who also played, watched and listened, hosted, and judged. If you couldn't get out to The Blue Monkey, there's still 3 weeks of preliminaries remaining. It's a great event and wonderful opportunity to showcase your talent.
