What is a Zombie Walk?
An organized public gathering of two or more people who dress up in zombie costumes and make up. The participants make their way around the city streets and through shopping malls in a somewhat orderly fashion, often limping and gnawing their way towards a local cemetery (or movie theater).
During the event participants are encouraged to remain in character as zombies and to communicate only in a manner consistent with zombies (such as grunts, groans and slurred moans calling for “brains”.)
There are strict Zombie Rules of Conduct that will be followed during the walk! Participants will be thoroughly briefed before the event, and will sign a form for participation and inclusion in the Guinness Book of World Records. [Please be sure to bring your canned food donations!]
General GUIDELINES:
Walk slooooooow... you're a zombie! Don't approach or touch anyone not associated with the walk. Keep your hands and feet to yourself (try not to reach out directly at members of the public as we pass them... this is legally considered threatening behavior). Zombie moaning/grunting/growling is okay. NO WEAPONS WHATSOEVER. Keep the alcohol and drugs at home and don't show up under the influence. You WILL be told to go home and will not be allowed to participate. As long as you're undead and willing to lurch with us, you are welcome to join! Please refrain from using language that may be offensive. If you ARE under 18, please try to bring a parent/guardian with you. Make sure that your parents know where you are and what you're doing. Please bring picture identification, just in case we have to prove that we're not actually undead. We ask that you NOT drink before the walk, due to drunk-in-public laws. Also, please follow all regular city and state laws as well as zombiewalk guidelines. We ask this for your safety and the safety of others. We will be UNABLE to help with makeup... SHOW UP IN COSTUME AND MAKEUP. Please do NOT bring extra blood! If you make a mess, you are legally responsible for it. Keep your blood ON YOUR CLOTHING AND BODY, if you intentionally or unintentionally leave it somewhere else, it can be considered vandalism. Pictures & Video? As long as your friends & family don't stop our group at any time and don't get in our way or block the flow of regular foot/vehicle traffic, they are welcome to take pictures & video. By participating in the walk, you acknowledge that your face and/or likeness may end up posted all over the internet and elsewhere.
Who I'd like to meet: Participants! If you want to be part of the event, please let me know. If you want to be part of the Guinness World Record attempt, we’ll need you to sign in the day of the event. Participants should also plan to donate at least one can of food. Thanks!
