A chance meeting in 2004 between singer/songwriter Louie Verga and piano player Christopher “Tree” Richardson led to the jam sessions that ultimately conceived the Baltimore-based indie rock outfit, LVT. Out of these early sessions emerged a handful of original songs that, within months, were being performed live at venues in and around the city. Christian Miele, an acquaintance of Richardson’s from Towson University, sought to join the duo on drums after checking out a show on Verga’s birthday in January 2006. The New Jersey native auditioned shortly thereafter and was formally invited to join. As a three-piece band, LVT would go on to open up for Dave Matthews collaborator Tim Reynolds and headline most of the major clubs in Baltimore. Needing to round out its sound with some low end, the group enlisted the services of bassist Bob Brooks in early 2007, which completes the current lineup. The band would continue to write songs in the studio for its debut record, Two Weeks From Now, which was released independently on June 5, 2009. Produced, recorded, and mixed by Fred Derby (Indigo Girls, DJ Kool), LVT’s initial offering is a unique blend of genres – crossing over rock, alternative, jazz, and electro pop.
