Lycanthrope Oboe is slowly evolving, is live-improvised, is layered, manipulated sounds, is barely audible drones, is crashing distorted feedback, is reverb-soaked waves of echo, is one humyn and a guitar.
Lycanthrope Oboe is the solo project of Jacken Waters - utilising loop and effects pedals to create drone soundscapes from sound sources that include, but are not limited to, electric and acoustic guitars, mandola, psaltery, several home-made stringed instruments, and voice.
I have produced two CDr albums to date, available directly from me at gigs, and soon to be available from Petula Records online.

Despite the obvious sympathetic resonance between the fens and the marches, the Cam/Hereford axis has been little explored by anthropologists, psychogeographers and others in the heritage industry.
We (me/thee) must exploit this further.
Death to Lycanthrope Oboe / Long live Lycanthrope Oboe
hi
i see you're from in and around where i live, and im interested in putting on some experimental (ie ambient, noise, drone etc) gigs sometime. my live situation is not quite up to scratch as i'm searching for another member to play bass and/or 2nd guitar, but when that is all sorted would you be interested in playing? you're live aktions are impressive, i experienced your tonal ambience at the victory a while back
Thank you very much for the add. Very beauftiful and orginal sounds coming from your end. I'm defintely going to be spending some time listening to your amazing textures. All the best,
I had an idea but I dont think it was a very good one, now. The last train I can find from Birmingham to Hereford is at 23.04 but the journey is apparently 7.46 hours so we dont get back to hereford until 6.50 on wednesday. :o( I think that same train, or one at the same time gets to worcester at 23.42 though. Otherwise we might have to wait around until the next morning and get one at about 6.30 or something, which isn't really fun.
I love music where the jorney is more important than the end result. The ability to hold an atmosphere goes far beyond the realms of the average musician. Keep it up comrade.
