| When The Morning Comes is a song I wrote in 2006 as a tribute to all soldiers on all sides -men and woman - who give up life and limb and sometimes their minds in order to fight wars that they barely understand. Governments are morally obligated to take care them...and the people are morally obligated to make sure it happens.
Funny How Time Slips Away, is a duet done in August, 2005 with pianist extraordinairre Lou Terricianno. Unfortunately, he passed away before we could complete the cd project. It was a great loss to the Worcester jazz and blues community. Hope you enjoy.
Also included are some tunes from my second cd All Over the Map which was recorded in 2003. All rights for cover tunes were obtained in 2006, and it's available on CD Baby.com or through my website at www.lydiafortune. I wrote "U Gotta Go" for all the folks who years back couldn't relate to my tunes that were considered 'too sweet' or 'too sentimental'. Ha! This was fun. But hey! I'm still penning those sentimental love songs! Musicians joining me on that album were Dan & Gail Hunt (hardest working guitar and bass playing husband & wife team in Worcester, MA), Joe Zupan (busiest drummer in town), and the gifted Mark Manuel on piano. It was an experiment in double & triple tracking my vocals. Joining me on 'In the Time of the Years Turning Green' are some of Worcester's finest acoustic/folk musicians - Ron Carlson (octave mandolin), Myra McCleod (violin) and Rich Leufstad (bass. On my tune "Beautiful Love of Mine" recorded live at the Green Rooster Coffee House in Worcester, Jim Heffernan tickles the keys, Dave Kendarian's on bass, George Dellamo's on drums, and the man with the soulful horn is Tommy Herbert. All 'cool' jazz cats!"
