About me:

Lydia Darling is a skilled performer, model and aerialist and a jolly nice lady to boot. I'm available for bookings - please get in touch on lydia[at]twisted[dot]com, or you can message me here on myspace. I don't really do TFP/CD shoots anymore, but if you have an interesting project feel free to get in touch as we might be able to negotiate something.
Lydia xxx

I AM CURRENTLY TAKING BOOKINGS FOR THE FOLLOWING SHOWS:
Burlesque:

'Peacock mating dance' - A nature documentary for grown-ups! dazzling in a crystal encrusted mask, Lydia's cheeky fan-dance in unique peacock skirt and trail is bound to raise a smile. Also available in full blue bodypaint!
'Film Noir Fancy' - "I knew she was trouble from the second she walked into my office" - how right he was! A smouldering bump n' grind routine performed to a specially recorded score - this private dick didn't know what hit him...
'Tango Solo' - a 1920's-styled, tango-inspired fan dance with 5ft white feather fans - tension builds as Lydia executes dramatic tango moves whilst shedding layer after layer of ivory fringing - the music explodes into a cresendo of passion, spins and diamonds!
'Double Trouble' -
the double act you've been waiting for...a highly choreographed, cheeky, Vegas-style fan-dance performed in matching outfits by burlesque's hottest blonde bombshells, Lydia Darling and Chrys Columbine!

'Neo-burlesque striptease:
'Mourning Bride' - The Mourning Bride, clad head to foot in black gowns and veils, is determined to follow her husband into the afterlife....resurrected as a zombie rock chick bitch-bride, this Living Dead Girl soon forgets about her lost love! Particularly suitable for rock, industrial or goth events, or anything where you want a humorous, non-traditional, kick-ass striptease routine.
'The Mistress and Margarita' - a satirical take on burlesque for the more literary-minded audience, this is a slyly humourous homage to the Bulgakov novel, and the power of greed!

Aerial:
'Gaijin Geisha' - a host of butterflies flutter around the Gaijin Geisha's head, as she slowly sheds robes, parasol and fan to charming Japanese music. Slipping from her swing into a gracefully executed routine, your jaw will drop as the Blonde Geisha drops and spins through a storm of butterflies, snow or cherry blossoms.

Fetish:
Patient Zero - beautiful fetishistic body-art shows performed with artist Obadiah Arkham. These performances are fairly intense and visceral, and not recommended for burlesque clubs. 'Appropriation' Inspired by a passage on the cannibalistic nature of love from Sartre's Being and Nothingness, this piece explores the concept of love as an attempt to control your partner and force them to see you as an idealised version of yourself. Utilises flesh-hooks, mouth-sewing and needles - bloody, compelling, and strangely touching.

I am also a very experienced DJ who loves to play 20's-40's, neo-swing, gypsy punk, circus songs and showtunes.

NEW! My 2009 showreel!

Not appropriate for minors.

Who I'd like to meet:

Like-minded individuals, filmmakers, writers, designers, photographers, performers, club promoters, you know the drill. Subs can add me if you like but I'm not going to do anything especially Dommey, and I'm certainly not going to respond to any speculative messages. Save that for Pedestal.

THE RETURN OF THE BAT Specimen will bring their special brand of glam mayhem, The Batcave to London again. After last year’s wildly-successful 25th anniversary Batcave event, The Batcave returns to its original spawning ground of London’s West End on Sunday July 19 for another night of blasphemy, lechery and blood. Specimen (Fresh from a fantastic show at Leipzig’s Waves Gotik festival), the original Batcave instigators will headline the lurid frolics at the Embassy Club, (29 Old Burlington St, London W1S3AP) Also on the bill are original Batcavers Sexbeat, with DJs Hamish and Cavey Nick, cavorting from decks to decadence with the usual brutal, trouser-dropping surprises & suitably confronting & barbaric entertainment. The 2009 Batcave will feature installations from exciting new artists of the ‘Dark London Underground’ and visuals from the upcoming ‘Welcome To The Batcave’ book, along with this year’s bitcrushed message from the creature in the Batcave Pram. All set in a spooky Bladerunner environment! So dress to kill … prepare for a thrill & Expect the unexpected! The Batcave will be open from 10pm till 3am. Tickets £15 available from www.ticketweb.co.uk and Resurrection Records. More info at www.specimenbatcave.net Miss it at your peril!
