After nearly fifteen years of multi-generational family sing-alongs, Lydia, then a Buffalo, NY-based Embarrassing Teenage Poet, realized that some people do this outside of their grandparents’ livingrooms and wrote her first song. A few months later she picked up her mother’s old acoustic guitar, lifted a bunch of her baby-boomer parents’ LPs, and a great love was born.
Now older, (slightly) wiser, and living and playing in the Boston metropolitan area, Lydia plays her own songs, as well as maintaining her love for the Irish and Appalachian folk music and story-telling traditions she grew up with, and which have infused her original music.
Heh, good old C-Bury. Four years of my life, mostly down the drain. I went to the same workshop a couple years ago (might have been the same one you were there) only to find out that yes, I am indeed an awful guitar player.
