I just wanted to take a second to write everyone and say hi.
hi.
I realize I haven't had a Lynchland in a few months now. This is not because I have stopped Lynchland... I've just been working on stuff for other people. I plan on doing
a Viewer Mail episode soon and possibly share some of the stuff I've been making.
Mainly, I've been having to pay the bills so that I can have the luxury to once again
get back to making Lynchland episodes. So I've been working on projects with friends
and drumming up jobs for the near future. I have had about 3 or 4 episode ideas
in the meantime and it's been frustrating not having the time to see them through.
Even while working on projects for other people, I'm still making elements and
animations that I will use in these future episodes (just to feel like I'm still working
on Lynchland episodes).
So hello there everyone. Promise to get a viewer mail out there soon so send me your questions if you have any to questions@liamlynch.net
these last few days I've been kind of sick at home. just a sinus/cold thing...
so I'm waiting to get back to my old self before shooting a new viewer mail.
Thank god SO MANY incredible xbox 360 games have come out recently.
It's kind of a golden age for gamers right now. I have been playing and loving
a game called Fallout 3. I was really surprised and pleased to find Sifl and Olly
references buried deep in the game. Quotes from the song "Llama school"
and a computer terminal password that was "Vicious Coy"... now THAT is an
obscure reference that I'm sure went right by about 99% of those who found it.
crazy. I love this game so much and had been playing for so long... they already
had my full attention and excitement... then I find out someone over there at
the game company must be a Sifl and Olly fan. too cool.
Other games that I've been enjoying during my crappy cold are: Mirror's Edge,
Left 4 Dead, Dead Space and Gears of War 2.
All great games and totally different experiences.
Besides working on stuff for friends(eagles of death metal, queens of the stone age,
and spinnerette), I also have been working on a theme song for a disney cartoon,
having meetings about a script I wrote, slightly trying to get lynchland on TV and
GARDENING actually....
bizarre... but I have a garden at my house now and it's kind of blowing my mind.
I've been growing cat nip as one of the many things in the garden... and the catnip
must be the chronic or something... I feel like I'm growing pot. I'm picking buds off
these catnip plants and bringing them in for my cats. Only two of my cats are really into cat nip... Chicken and Finnegan (who are boyfriend and girlfriend now... the most bizarre awkward cat couple maybe ever... a hairless sphinx and a clone).
I put down the catnip and they get so wasted that it's hilarious. Just totally wasted on
homegrown catnip. I highly suggest trying it if you have cats. Catnip is basically a weed and you could do nothing to kill it. Just water it a bunch and soon it's gigantic. it's even attracted some of the neighborhood cats into the yard.
I hope everyone is doing well and for those in the US, that you'll have a happy thanksgiving. I haven't really celebrated thanks giving in years and years, since living in England... also, as far as an american holiday... I didn't have anything to be thankful for... but this year, North America and the WORLD has something to be thankful for. The first decent president we've had in a long time. Thank you to anyone that voted for Barrack Obama. How amazing was that election day and that speech? It brought tears to my eyes. It was such a moving historic moment. It felt like hope. I think the world could use some right now. Barrack Obama has actually given me back something that I felt was stolen from me by George Bush. American dignity? I'm not sure but oddly I even have had dreams where I get to meet Barrack Obama. They aren't buddy buddy dreams... they've been realistic. Like, getting to meet him and shake his hand after a speech or at a lecture or something. So weird. Never in my life have I ever had a dream about a president. He's got a lot of hard work ahead of him cleaning up the mess the Bush party made of this country and world... but I know he's going to have great people working with him. I can honestly say I believe in him and support what he stands for... that's a new feeling. I can't wait for things to start getting better... it's not just political or economic... it's more about just the general mood of people and how they treat each other. It's really great to see so many Americans actually agree on something and the world agree with them. I guess it made me super happy to
just see all that agreement and happiness. I felt like foreign countries were proud of us too. so weird.
well, I've rambled enough.
Hello everyone. I'll make a viewer mail soon and a new lynchland (which
I've already got planned in my head) as soon as I can.
take care,
liam

10 of 21MoreHave you beat Fallout 3 yet?
There Liam, my rock'n'roll friend! Happy New Year! You're in the UK now? Wow! It must be nice to be an American abroad once more. I haven't been out of the US since Obama was elected but I get this feeling that this summer in Amsterdam is gonna rock. Hell, I even got a call from a friend the night of the election congratulating us on making history and putting an end to "circling the drain" as he put it. Damn, it was that bad? Apparently. So I wish you continued success and just like having our first black president I'm keeping hope alive for the release of all 3hree seasons of SnO. YES WE CAN!!!
xxooo
Morgana who turned 50...saw history..and is still your ancient deep sea animal. ;)
Looking forward to lots of cats in the upcoming Lynchlands. Cats make the world go round. Cats are awesome beings.
Hey Liam,
Good to see that you are working! I think those of us who follow Lynchland know you have to be patient sometimes, but it's well worth the wait! Lynchland pretty much exposed me to podcasts, now I am obsessed with them!
Anyhow, I know what you mean about Obama. I went to work late so I could stop by and vote beforehand, and then kept my I Voted sticker on all day, and before I left I kept it on my keyboard at work. I know it's silly, it's just this little sticker but I read so much news in my downtime at work and then I can look down at my sticker and think "okay, only a few more days of bush! phew!"

Dude, Be careful. Don't want to loose you to a bizarre gardening accident.
Hi Liam - Sorry you are sick, but good to hear your update. Your old friend Teagan (who turns 18 this weekend and was bummed she couldn't vote) goes to Columbia College in Chicago and lives two blocks from Grant Park so she was there when Obama's victory was announced. She said it was incredible - very emotional and a time she will never forget. I share your optimism - we are in a huge mess, but this guy seems to be able to surround himself with the best and brightest. If anyone can set us on a solid new course, I believe it is our new President. Cheers to you, your cats and your whole family on Thanksgiving from me, Teagan, Cole and Bridget!
it's good to hear from over on your front!
feel better soon, liam! hit me up with an xbox friend request if you want to play left 4 dead sometime, i'm 'nikkixbee' on live. (i don't usually do that but hey, why not!)
i hope you get feeling better. i am totally with you on the election day speech from our new president. it was nice to actually feel like my vote mattered. i was sitting on the couch with a few tears myself. it seems like the overall mood of my environment is a lot happier. i look forward to seeing more sweet stuff coming from lynchland.
later,
scott d.
you're right Liam - foreign countries are proud of you for electing Obama, we here in UK couldn't believe it :)
