LYNCH RIDER LULU'S DEBUT ALBUM 'Who's gonna live there now?' is out on the Alien Frequencies label. Click on the link below to buy the album, priced at £10 + £1 postage.
Alt-rock trio LYNCH RIDER LULU are united by their love of dirty great rifs, off-kilter rhythms, twisted stories and their collections of car steering wheels. Their influences take in a broad spectrum of the weird and wonderful - from Slint to Tom Waits, Why? to Deerhoof & Menomena. The songs capture the stories of a cavalcade of characters, while the music conjures up the atmosphere of all kinds of places- like a musical road trip, taking in the changing scenery along the way while peeking through net curtains into every other window.
Lynch Rider Lulu recorded their debut album ‘Who’s gonna live there now?’ in 2008, in a haunted barn in the Wiltshire countryside, assisted by bass-player Joe Gideon, erstwhile frontman of 'Bikini Atoll' (Bella Union) and more recently 'Joe Gideon & the Shark' (Bronzerat), and engineer Justin Underhill (whose credits include Bloc Party, Absentee, Sleater Kinney & Klaxons).
The band are doing a tour of the USA in February/March and then holing up in San Francisco to put together new material for forthcoming releases.
It was so good to hear you again the other eve. I love listening to your scrunchy chords and time defying sounds. Will buy your album as soon as I get paid. Jess x
Nice little thing t'other night. Sucks that you couldn't play just another 15 minutes longer. I blame the amazingly shit Brilliant 59 entirely. I would like to see them again tho, and be just a little bit drunker... >:D I got a few pics and some vid but the stage lighting was bloody useless - Che was bathed in an almost inappropriately devine orange glow, Simon ocassionally forced me to squint in all his whiteness and Lucy was mostly just out of range of that one spotlight. I'm always reluctant to use flash at gigs too cos: a) it looks crap and b) it can be a distraction for the band, so I didn't really get much worthwhile. Still, I had a jolly good night, don't you know?!
hey, really hope you can make it along to our Luminaire show tomorow night in Kilburn, we really want to make it a big special night on our Uk tour, would be great if you could pop down Groanbox :)
Once again, massive thanks for the other night, you were outstanding and we had loads of people telling us how much they were loving your tunes. Hopefully see you again soon, and you're welcome back at "Howard's Front Room" whenever you like....
I'm writing my Master's thesis on online marketing for musicians and bands. If you have 10 minutes left please take my survey at http://musicmate.net/survey (German version: http://musikfreund.com/umfrage) and support my work. I'd really appreciate it!
