Influences

My main influence is Dan Fogelberg. Other artists who have had an impact on me are Jane Siberry, John Denver, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Jann Arden, Joni Mitchell, Linda Ronstadt......... The list could go on forever. I'm a fan of good songs. It doesn't really matter what genre it is, if it's a good song, it's a good song. But, my favourite music is definitely the singer/songwriter, folkie thing. I like writer's who try to unravel the mystery that we all find ourselves immersed in. I have also been influenced by so many wonderful people who's stories have shaped my perception of this crazy and beautiful world. Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter, loved him from the first time I saw him. When I was a kid, I used to be enthralled with Jacques Cousteau, so there's definitely a theme there. Anyone with the courage to try and protect the natural world and it's silent inhabitants, anyone who tries to give a voice to those without a voice.

The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated. Mahatma Gandhi (1869 - 1948)

"WHAT BEFALLS THE EARTH BEFALLS ALL THE SONS OF THE EARTH. THIS WE KNOW: THE EARTH DOES NOT BELONG TO MAN, MAN BELONGS TO THE EARTH. ALL THINGS ARE CONNECTED LIKE THE BLOOD THAT UNITES US ALL. MAN DOES NOT WEAVE THIS WEB OF LIFE. HE IS MERELY A STRAND OF IT. WHATEVER HE DOES TO THE WEB, HE DOES TO HIMSELF.' Chief Seattle (1786-1866)

The clearest way into the universe, is through a forest wildnerness. -John Muir (1838-1914)

When the earth is sick, the animals will begin to disappear, when that happens, the Rainbow Warriors will come to save them. Chief Seattle

Our task must be to free ourselves . . . by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty.

   About Lynda Craig
MySpace Tracker I don't like bio's. It's like doing a sales job on something that is not, or should not be, for sale. My whole life is a journey of discovery, of who I am, and the deeper I go into the mystery, the less I seem to know. I know I only feel really at home, when I am in the "Wild Places." The places touched by the creator of all, whatever that is. Some indefinable energy. I know that is when I feel truly connected. I am feeling less and less connected to the artificial world of mankind and society. So much noise, so much running. Always in a rush to go somewhere or do something. It's making less and less sense to me. I wish it was like when I was a child again, except that I would know everything I know now. I would breathe in the scent of every flower, of every plant, and I would wait patiently for hours for a glimpse of the wild creatures. Those incredible beings that wait so patiently for us to get it.

Hey there,
Here's one from left field...
Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while back I came across some very disturbing information, which inspired me to make this video:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaIim3Rj7L4
Both artistic (ensure you've good enough sound to enjoy the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though the source materials are somewhat aged, the fundamentals remain relevant today.
I encourage all to visit the YouTube web page above to learn more (Show your support! Rate! Comment!) and responsibly re-post and circulate as widely as possible.
Help to raise awareness.
Say have you checked out my web site (http://www.faberoptime.com) recently?
Take care and keep in touch.
Best,
Faber.

Hi Lynda, it was horrible to read about the poor coyote being hunted. At the moment over here there is a big news article regarding a hunter in Scotland who is bidding for the highest price to kill a white deer. I just can't understand the mentality of these people, why can't animals be left alone to live peacefully without being hunted for sick amusement of twisted individuals. Oscar Wilde summed it up perfectly - 'The Unspeakable in pursuit of the uneatable' White deer in Celtic Mythology are regarded as messengers from the 'otherword' but I guess Celtic mythology means nothing to those whose only focus is greed and avarice at the expense of the life of a wild animal, blood money it certainly is and I hope if this comes to pass and the white deer is killed, it brings both the hunter and the person who is advertising the white deer to be killed to the hightest bidder nothing but bad luck.

Sorry but Im just livid about this at the moment.

Thank You For Supporting The Wild Animal Sanctuary! For over 26 years The Wild Animal Sanctuary has been rescuing Captive Wildlife across the US. The Sanctuary is home to over 155 wild Animals including Lions, Bears, Tigers, Wolves, Mountain Lions, Leopards & Small Cats that live on 240 acres of rolling grassland just outside of Denver, CO!
The Animals are rescued from private owners who keep them as pets, commercially exploit them in circuses & roadside attractions, & bred them over & over, just to sell their cubs for profit. There are about 25,000 animals in the US that are in this condition. They arrive emaciated, usually with urine burns on their feet (result of walking in their own urine & feces), fluid-filled joints (from living in concrete cages), bone deformities (from poor nutrition), & facial deformities from abuse. They come to a place where they have spacious indoor/outdoor habitats, the best quality food available, plenty of time to run, play & swim, with lots of love & affection!
The Sanctuary has an annual budget of $1.5 million. Please support the Sanctuary in any way that you can, either financially or by spreading the word.
Please check blog postings on the profile & in group Animal Sanctuaries, Rescues & Zoos for updates. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to send an e-mail!
Please visit www.wildanimalsanctuary.org for more information.

Hello, thank you for your friend request.
Once again someone here, reiterating the constant reminder about the very serious situation of global warming we find ourselves in, which requires our due diligence by each and everyone NOW. This is the only way to avert this impending situation from worsening into a miserable future of living in an ecologically messed up planet where everyone would suffer. This is not a warning folks, this is a true threat!!

Keep talking to others, get the word out. God does love us, but also, if we keep messing up over and over, we all know what happens next. On that note, let’s all become ‘green soldiers’ for the earth by doing our part in our way. Keep informing yourself about the things you can do to change, and change. You will see it’s actually easier than you thought. The results of the actions of many together in a united front is the life-shift that we need at this juncture in time. Pass the word around.

You Do Make A Difference!!
Be A Leader, Do Your Part.
Thank you.

"What is unconscionable, abominable and outrageous is that animals, healthy and well-behaved, are being killed because someone says there are too many. That is something we do not accept.
