LM has always known music as a primary medium of expression. Growing up, Lyndell studied violin and piano through the Royal Conservatory of Music and she was also heavily involved in school band(s). She dabbled in a bit of everything: French horn, trombone, trumpet, euphonium, tuba and percussion before settling predominantly on bass and violin. Coming from a classical and gospel background with a tip-of-the-hat to ragtime and jazz, she has embraced music as not only a career, but also as a life force. She’s “one of those people” who can make a joyful noise regardless of the instrument in her charge.
In addition to composing, arranging and performing along side Ember Swift for twelve plus years, Lyndell has collaborated with many artists on both studio recordings and live performance projects. Some artists she has worked with include Pete Seeger, Melissa Ferrick, Fruit, Garnet Rogers, Xavier Rudd, Rachelle Van Zanten, Holly Near, Kinnie Starr, Ferron, Bitch, Chris Pureka, Alix Olson to name but a few.
When she is not working on a musical project, Lyndell is restoring a wood frame 1877 house located in SE Ontario. Slowly but surely retrofitting it to be off the grid and fully self sustaining.
