Lyndsay Pace, the Maltese 19-year old singer, dancer & song-writer from the locality of Swieqi, Ibragg and born on the 12th March 1990 is known to be such an outstanding, confident and outgoing teenager who takes great interest in anything that has to do with the arts of music. At the moment, Lyndsay’s working on TV production as an assistant producer with a local media company, Where’s Everybody and is currently concentrating on the profession of this task.
Lyndsay’s passion for music had always been in her heart since she was a little child and thus she always carried the natural abilities in having such good presence and personality on stage. She’s that type of person who always takes a challenge, speaks her mind and is not afraid to be her true self. Generally speaking, she began her singing career at a tender age of 10 years old were she had taken vocal lessons from many professional teachers such as Heather Baker and Joshua Alamu back from the UK. She is in fact taking Speech Level Singing training at the present time and is tending to keep up with the development and process of her vocals. Her main genre is relatively based on pop music but has a twist to a rockish feel and classy tunes evolving itself with that commercial sound as she has the ability to be as versatile and as flexible as possible throughout her style since she is always eager to focus on any new outlooks while trying her upmost to capture the whole plot of the audience. Also, her influences include some of the world's top artists in the music scene such as Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis and Jordin Sparks to mention a few whereas her personal background became the main motivation that drove her song writing into action.
In the past few years or so, Lyndsay has taken part in several music activities were she managed to show off her good qualities and achieve positive results. In fact, she took part in a variety of local festivals, T.V. programmes such as “Talent Zone” and “Ma’ Gaffiero” 2006 were she won 1st place amongst the other 20 participants in the category, The Baystreet Talent Competition “Star To Be” 2006 were she won 1st place and was also rewarded as the Overall Winner with many grand prizes, the popular challenge of “L-Isfida” 2006, hosted by Claudette Pace were she managed to make it through with the finalists from around a 100 applicants, The XFM Competition “Virtual Rockstar” 2007 were she had placed 4th amongst the 20 finalists and also she had been invited for a number of times to be present on T.V. aswell as radio stations in order to enhance promotion and plenty of exposure.
Having said that, Lyndsay also took the “Starter Pack” music media course during the summer holidays in 2006, organized by Malta’s leading media crew, Where’s Everybody were she was greatly thought to strengthen and improve her talents. During her time there, she had the opportunity to work on a brand new single and music video with the help of a high-skilled team. The song, entitled as “The Truth In Me”, written and produced by Lyndsay herself & Mro. Paul Abela, which relates a story about a devastating break-up or better understood as a complete failed romance had also been a stepping-stone of success for her since she had made it through with the first 35 songs chosen from 228 other songs in the “Malta Song For Europe 2006”, being that it was her first time to enter in this massive competition.
Still young at heart, Lyndsay’s journey to experiencing, discovering and learning new skills in the media seemed to be growing at a constant rate as she showed great interest in other similar courses under the same establishment, to mention a few “Starter Pack Plus”, “Media Teens”, “Presenters” and most likely more to come in her way, whilst prospering in her character and finding her inner-self throughout her studies.
In early 2007, Lyndsay was chosen to be part of the “Taking Gender Equality to Local Communities” Project, accompanied by Mro. Paul Abela and Joe Julian Farrugia who were responsible for the finishing of the songs, including Lyndsay’s Maltese single “Toqghodx Lura” and the theme song “Different and Equal” which is sung by all the established local singers involved. Basically, this project had been aimed to create awareness among ordinary citizens about the difficulties and limitations that gender roles and stereotypes create in everyday activities.
Amongst some of her previous tunes, Lyndsay had released another touching ballad entitled as “Say Goodbye”, again written and produced by Lyndsay herself & Mro. Paul Abela in early December 2007 online which talks about the start of something new and relates mostly to those people who are in search for everlasting happiness in their lives.
Whilst having had also the role as a lead singer in an amateur rock band for almost a year at the very start of her music career, Lyndsay settled down as a solo artist for a long period of time until recently in the year 2008 as she had been selected to be part of Malta's first and ultimate girl band "Vieve" in conjunction with Richard Rogers of Silverscope music and XFM who are thrilled to announce this fresh and exciting project. The 4 girl band members, hand picked for this once in a lifetime opportunity are Lyndsay Pace herself, Marilena Gauci, Marilyn Mifsud and Francesca Galea. Speaking in their first ever interview during the Big Drive Home with Jay and Lee, the girls were utterly thrilled at being given the chance to do what most teenage girls only dream of. Moreoever, Vieve’s first performance was held at the Néstle Fitness Virtual Model event being held at the Corinthia San Gorg on 28th March, followed up by their debut single release "Simple Pop" on XFM. Gigs in London and other European venues had been already lined up for early Summer, accompanied by the release of their second single. With a host of song writing talent behind them, known for penning songs for artists such as Rod Stewart, Ringo Starr, Mel C, S-Club 7 and Placebo this project had been looking good for Malta's very own "Vieve"!
By means of unfortunate circumstances, the band split up after a year but Lyndsay’s solo projects did not stop here on a good note as her repertoire was definitely something not to be missed on Family TV, were she had the chance to perform on a regular basis during “Ma’ Gorg” in October 2008, (hosted by Joseph Borg), the station’s early afternoon magazine program with different guests delivering their particular subject to the viewers, which have also vastly boosted Lyndsay’s career in terms of recognition whilst getting to know her better from a different perspective.
With much more planned up in her sleeve, Lyndsay had officialy launched another rockish single called "Angels & Demons" (lyrics by Gerard James Borg & music by Philip Vella, mostly known for their successful Eurovision entries in the past years) on the 14th December 2008 during a festive marathon which has been greatly occupied by appearances on local TV shows, an upcoming radio release and other various activities. Being an upcoming artist, Lyndsay maintains her upmost towards her carreer as she relates about such deep feelings, thoughts and emotions during certain circumstances throughout this breath-taking song as she strongly feels that she is always maturing and learning in what she does.
In the beginning of the year 2009, Lyndsay had been selected to be a resident singer and perform live pieces on the spectacular TV show “Saturday Night” on Favourite Channel (hosted by J Anvil together with Dominic Galea’s band), an ultra-modern local station which have been launched this year whilst meeting the televiewers demands and striving to excel in their mission to be a source of information, education aswell as entertainment. Yet another similar program in which Lyndsay had been involved in also include the Best Entertainment winning program “Pjazza” back in 2008 and also second time round in 2009, a weekly live show aired in the summer from locations round the Maltese islands, offering a mixture of fun, educational features, top local and foreign music, games and cultural inserts together with grand prizes (hosted by the local personalities Angie Laus, Peter Carbonaro).
Later in the same year, Lyndsay had been selected in the "International Malta Hit Song Contest" amongst the top 20 participants with her fresh up tempo song “One More Chance” (lyrics & music by Rosman Pace) which had been another break through in her career, whereas Deo Grech and Ray Falzon had been the hosts of the festival from the second series of Celebrity Sundays, aired on One TV on a weekly basis.
After last year’s performance with the girl band Vieve at Malta's largest and most diverse event The Farsons Great Beer Festival, Lyndsay had once again made her appearance at the main stage as a solo artist this year on Sunday 26th July, Ta’ Qali Park and had released her new rocky single "Addicted" (written and produced by Lyndsay herself & Errol Sammut) combined with a new sound, new vibe and most definitely a new style considering her previous outlook. Other songs from her repertoire had been also included during the show whilst performing to such an amazing crowd on the night. "Well, love is the purest drug and this song seems to be like a life saving in people's daily doses. Basically I wanted to create something deep and bring out certain situations which others can actually relate to." She says as she explains the story line of her song during her press release which was featured online at www.manicmalta.com. "Catchy tune, heavy drums, strong vocals...yep, it's all there for your attention so hope you enjoy my sound and please keep on supporting the local talent around here!" Lyndsay had been also thrilled to have already received positive feedback about her new piece in the first few weeks since her launch so much that she had been described as being at her best and therefore she plans to continue her song-writing aswell as working on more tracks based on this similar style in the future as had been requested by most of her followers. In addition to her busy schedule, Lyndsay had already been invited to perform aswell as being interviewed on local TV shows and the song has been classified in the local Malta Charts Top 20 and has also hit some of the daytime foreign shows in the UK.
As more opportunities started settling in, Lyndsay had decided to emerge herself into a great challenge and enter the first local singing competition/reality show "Don't Stop Me Now" (hosted by the well known presenter Eileen Montesine) which had been launched in late Winter 2009 on Favourite Channel. Lyndsay had been thrilled to be part of such an experience, whilst having the chance to perform live songs each week aswell as performing certain tasks that you would not even imagine to highlight her own personality during the TV show.
During the same year Lyndsay had also been selected as a resident singer on the live and most viewed day time Sunday program "Hadd Ghalik" to offer a variety of songs every few weeks or so (hosted by the popular Angie Laus and Mario Coleiro), featuring an entertaining array of games, live acts, music, gossip, entertainment and educational slots which had kicked off once more in Winter 2009/2010 as it returns to the screen with a proven formula.
Moreover, Lyndsay continuously tries her best to bring out the right elements to satisfy the diverse music taste in this industry and is also working on some new material, being that her main ambition is that she truly ends up making her mark in the music scene as an established artist sooner or later regarding the local area, or better yet, the international one.
