Writing: books, song-writing, music, poetry...anything! Writing is release, expression and comfort for the soul. It connects us all on a more subtle, subliminal level - somewhat like music. Other interests include art, nature, animal liberation, human rights, people and doing all I can to create a better world.
Music
Music that moves me (emotionally or physically). Check out Fornequiem, my brother's music...it's amazing, original and genius! I'm a song-writer myself. Music lifts my spirit and fills my inner being. It is the voice of life, love and connection. It unites us all. It balances me and takes me to my place of origin.
Books
I love reading autobiographies and non-fiction. I wrote INTUITIVE MOTHERING - published by New Holland, Australia, 2006. For more information, you can visit my official Intuitive Mothering website.
I'm also involved in an anthology called SOME GIRLS DO...MY LIFE AS A TEENAGER, a collection of stories by some of Australia's favourite female authors. It's due for release through Allen & Unwin, Australia, April, 2007. ALL proceeds from the sale of this book will go to a wonderful charity, called SISTER2sister, a mentor program for disadvantaged teenage girls and part of Life Changing Experiences.
About me:
I'm the mother of two beautiful angels, Jasmine and Angelique. I'm married to Duncan, my soul mate and best friend. I love life and live life like there's no tomorrow. If we wait for tomorrow, I believe we miss today.
I've always written: notes, diaries, poetry, songs. Writing has always enabled me to make sense of life and remember what I've learned along the way. I learn from everyone I meet, every day.
When I became a mother, I felt modern mothering was back to front and inside out in many ways. The structure and systems dictating society do not support a connective, fulfilling mothering experience. I wrote about what I, and others around me, experienced and learned. I was searching for deeply fulfilling answers. They came. They flowed to me and through me. The process was a beautiful awakening to me. I felt so honoured and blessed to receive this gift. I then compelled to share it.
The synchronicity and universal process creating the reality of INTUITIVE MOTHERING being born, as its own free entity, was magical and miraculous.
The ultimate gift to me now, though, comes in the emails I receive from readers, whose lives have been transformed through this book - just as mine was.
To all the intuitive mothers out there: remember to trust yourself. You are perfect just the way you are!
