I listen to whatever is playing, and I am surrounded by lovers of music. However, two enduring favorites from my teenage years are The Who and Elvis Costello. Elvis is still a genius, too. I can listen to everything from Flogging Molly, to the Dixie Chicks, to Pink Floyd and even show tunes. "Real" music lovers will no doubt find something to scoff at in my taste, but I happily enjoy most everything - so long as there is no whining involved and it remains essentially melodic... | | Movies | I have equally diverse taste in movies. I can very contentedly sit through silly garbage, but I really appreciate genius, too. The Fountain impressed me with its depth and vision. On the other hand Happy Feet was a kick, too. Go figure. I love action, adventure, comedy, romance, scifi, fantasy, animation...just about everything except horror. Horror is either so stupid that it isn't funny, or so scary that it isn't fun. | | Television | Satire makes me laugh, therefore The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are great supplements to the local news and CNN. I'm a news junky. I can't pass up Jeopardy if it's on, and I get stuck watching home improvement and horse training shows (RFD). | | Books | Teaching English takes all my time, so I don't read as much as I'd like. Past favorites included fantasy novels by Mercedes Lackey, among others, and historical novels, such as those by Dorothy Dunnett. I love so many authors, especially those who write for kids. The last book I read was Eragon. It was good, but the movie is, well, not the same. | | Heroes | Batman.
