..
LYNN HOFFMAN is the always energetic and engaging host of A&E Networks original series and America’s most watched cable music series “Private Sessions,” a weekly one-hour performance and interview program showcasing top names in contemporary music. She has hosted shows and interviewed in depth, legendary artists and actors for the series and network over the past three seasons including Avril Lavigne, Goo Goo Dolls, Toby Keith, Blues Traveler, Meat Loaf, Michael Douglas, Queen Latifah, Heart, Anthony Hopkins, Barenaked Ladies, Seal, Duran Duran, John Cusack, James Blunt, Maroon 5, Ringo Starr, Counting Crows, Cyndi Lauper, Chicago, Alanis Morissette, Jewel, Carly Simon, Foreigner, Sheryl Crow, Squeeze, Sarah McLachlan, Lindsey Buckingham, Boyz II Men, Dustin Hoffman. Lynn is currently in production on season three which will feature the series first ever Best-Of special and include interviews and performances by Wynona Judd, Annie Lenox, Gene Simmons, Daughtry, Brooks & Dunn, Dennis DeYoung, Colbie Calliat, Lionel Richie, Sean Paul, En Vogue, Smokey Robinson, Kevin Bacon, Natasha Beddingfield, Martina McBride, Third Eye Blind, Vanessa Williams, Brooks & Dunn, Hall & Oates, Twisted Sister, and Smokey Robinson.
Born in Boston and raised in Newton Massachusetts, Lynn recalls taping herself on cassette at age 7 voicing and acting out TV commercials and movie trailers. Hoffman knew she wanted to be in show business ever since she performed in the play “Peter Pan” in elementary school. She starred in many stage productions and eagerly, pursued acting, singing, dancing, performing, show choir, TV and radio during her early schooling years. Lynn also took up a number of different musical instruments growing up including guitar, violin, clarinet, piano & drums right through high school. She always had a love of music and regularly taught herself how to play many of the instruments on her own by ear. At 12 she tried out for the movie Annie and although she didn’t make the cut she did make it much farther than any of her friends in the call backs. Just far enough to know she had a taste of what she really loved and that performing arts was in her blood and where she felt most comfortable.
Her idol’s and inspiration growing up were Carol Burnett and Cher and the early cast of SNL when she sneaked up late and hid behind a chair to watch. Lynn always wanted to host her own variety/comedy/talk show. She attended various performing arts camps while growing up and even took a job as telemarketer for the famous Huntington Theater company just to be close to the arts when she couldn’t perform.
In 1989, she recorded her first radio commercial at a radio station for her father's office furniture business and never looked back. Her passion and love for broadcasting and entertaining flourished and led her to pursue a degree in communications in college. Hoffman graduated from The New England Institute of Art in 1992 with a degree in Communications and quickly started making a living using her voice, recording commercials for local cable production companies, messages on hold for local businesses including the Showcase Cinema Movie Line and voicing policy & procedure video’s for Raytheon Corp., while spinning jazz records as a part time board op at the local Jazz Station WCDJ.
Soon, Lynn landed her first professional on-air broadcasting position in 1993 with Metro Networks as a traffic/news reporter for various Boston radio stations. Only two weeks after she started, Hoffman was moved into prime time morning drive as traffic reporter and trading one-liners with some of biggest names in Boston radio and in the radio industry.
In 1996, Hoffman's electrifying energy caught the attention of veteran radio DJ John Lander. After giving her the opportunity to join his Morning Show on WBMX Mix 98.5 in Boston, Lynn went on to become his co-host and the two had a steady and successful 5-½ year run to became one of the highest rated morning radio shows in Boston.
In 1997, she signed with William Morris Agency as a voice-over talent, a business that she continues to work and thrive in to this day. Lynn’ imaging voice can be heard on radio stations across the country in various formats and markets from New York to Utah and Chicago to Dallas. She also voices commercials and does narrations for TV shows and documentaries. Her voice over web site is www.lynnhoffmanvo.com
In 1998 Hoffman became the Entertainment reporter fill-in on CBS's WBZ-TV 4 in Boston.
In February 2002, although being offered a multi-year contract to continue doing mornings and dabbling in what little local tv had to offer, Hoffman knew she still had more she wanted to accomplish and she set out to capture her media dreams by moving to New York City.
A few short months after her arrival in New York City, Hoffman auditioned for and was hired as the first host for MTV network's brand new digital channel, VH1 Classic. She became the first and main host (VJ) on VH1 Classic talking up video’s as well as hosting shows like The All Request Hour, “Hangin With”, co-hosting with such legendary artists as The Doors, Donna Summer, Bonnie Raitt, Hall and Oates, Roger Daltrey, Pat Benatar, Brett Micheals, Kenny Loggins, Suzanne Vega, David Crosby, Joe Jackson, Lisa Loeb and many others, all the Music and Countdown specials as well as hosting the Vh1 Classic On-Demand channel and all web hosted programming.
Lynn has also hosted shows for E! Entertainment television, TLC and VH1.
In 2003, Lynn was hired to host a Time Life TV infomercial called"Legends of Rock" co-hosting along side rock and roll legend Roger Daltrey of "The Who.”
In 2004, Hoffman was given her own morning show on Mix 102.7, New York's legendary WNEW.
In 2007 Lynn was hired to host A&E’s new show ‘Private Sessions’.
In 2008 A&E's Private Sessions officially became America's most watched cable music series. www.aetv.com/private-sessions
In 2009 Lynn Hoffman was chosen by Lexus of Manhattan to become their official commercial TV Spokesperson.
..
..
This versatile and warm and easy to work with on camera/voice talent has proven time and again that she can hold her own no matter what the job calls for & with class and style. Lynn truly knows how to bring the viewing audience at home right into the moment with her. Be it an in depth celebrity interview, hosting any type of show, hosting live stage events in front of thousands or being the commercial spokesperson for a product she believes in, Lynn can do it all, shows up prepared to do it all and loves every second of it all! She has also cut her teeth over the years as a producer for various projects in TV and radio and loves directing and working with talent as well as grass roots & guerilla marketing. Lynn hopes to someday create, produce and direct new informative, uplifting and entertaining shows for TV & radio networks in the future.
Lynn believes there are two types of people in this crazy business, the ones who just want to be celebrities ... and the ones who just love the work & working with a collaborative team.
"All I've ever wanted to do in life is work in a collaborative, creative & artistic environment, to entertain people, make them laugh & feel good about themselves, to motivate & inspire people to live the best lives they can and to be the best that they can be! If we all lift each other up then we all succeed!
So as they say in show business...... Stay Tuned!

We ask ourselves, Who am I to be BRILLIANT, GORGEOUS, TALENTED, AND FABULOUS? Actually, WHO ARE YOU NOT TO BE? Your playing small DOESN'T SERVE THE WORLD. THERE'S NOTHING ENLIGHTENED ABOUT SHRINKING SO THAT OTHER PEOPLE WON'T FEEL INSECURE AROUND YOU. AS WE LET OUR LIGHT SHINE, WE UNCONSCIOUSLY GIVE OTHER PEOPLE PERMISSION TO DO THE SAME. AS WE ARE LIBERATED FROM OUR OWN FEAR.....OUR PRESENCE AUTOMATICALLY LIBERATES OTHERS.
