  • Bio

I'm a Christian singer/songwriter who lives in the New Orleans area. I'm also a human rights activist and sometimes get involved in those types of causes. Definitely NOT a part of the Religious Right and disagree with much of what they stand for. I was born in Seattle, Washington and learned to play guitar and sing there. Eventually, I moved Eastward and lived in Florida for twenty years and came here to New Orleans to help out after Katrina. No one told me that if one is a musician, they might never LEAVE! It's been three years and counting. Right now, I'm trying to form an acoustic Christian group that will play secular and gospel music for a variety of venues, including churches. I play both gospel and secular music with the only rule really that I'm not into the nastiness of alot of today's music. I want people of all ages to be able to come to my shows. If you live in the New Orleans area and want to be a part of this group, email me. You can purchase my music now through my online music store below: .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..............
  • Members

I NEED other members. I would like to have sort of an acoustic folk jazz or folk blues sound when the band is playing. If you're interested in being a part of this and are drug and alcohol free, please email me.
  • Influences

I think I sound like myself ... but I've been influenced by many other artists. Some of my favorites when I was growing up were Jesse Colin Young and the Youngbloods, Janis Joplin, Billie Holiday, Joan Baez, Johnny Cash, America, Blind Willie McTell, really loved Huddie "Leadbelly" Ledbetter who sung himself out of Angola on several occasions! Not sure if it was his music or determination that I liked ... but that really took guts. I think it was a bit of both. Leadbelly got his nickname because this muscular man could outwork just about anyone on a chain gang! Anyhow, this should answer any questions. Just listen to the music clips if want to hear who I sound like :) :) Enjoy the music! I do ...

I hate this question! I sound like myself. Check out "Influences" for the answer to this question .... :)

"Survivers Song was written shortly after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. It is about the Lower 9th Ward. A younger woman was caretaker for an old woman who lived a street away from where I was at the time I wrote the song. The old woman was an invalid, and the young woman tried to help her when the storm came. When the levees broke, they both died in the rushing waters. They found both bodies three blocks away on Tupelo Street a month later. I met their children, and right after that ... wrote the song. If I run into them again. I'm giving them a copy. But I can't remember any of the names."

"Hi Ionosonde ... I love your vacuum tube display there. I collect old radios and am a ham radio operator. That definitely caught my attention. I'm also a musician and film student. "
