I was Raised in Hamilton Ontario, that’s where my dad is from. My mum was from Hollywood. THey met in the summer while my mum was visiting Canada. She was an opera singer, she worked at the Canadian opera company, she drove on the highway through snow storms, sometimes. My grandma (mum’s mum) was an opera singer too, she grew up in Brooklyn, she is alive and beautiful still. My great grandfather, he was from Poland, was a composer, and I have his piano even tho I never met him. As a kid I was exposed to every kind of music imaginable. I walked through the forest to school. I played piano, sang in the choir and danced wherever I could. When I left home I moved to Toronto and got a job at a rock radio station, learned all about popular music. After that I moved to Vancouver to go to art school where I experimented with clay ,painting , sculpture & performance art. Then, I moved to Los Angeles, where it's warm, took pictures of musicians did a lot of dancing bought my first guitar so I could write the songs that were swimming around in my head. I Have a strong relationship with trees, which have kept me grounded in all the places I have lived .
After spending the last month driving 4000 miles around the southwest, I arrived back in Los Angeles to discover that my new album 'Anitya' has been released. Its currently available on amazon, napster and emusic...or you can listen to most of streaming for free on reverbnation.com/tullymackaytisbert. If you enjoy it I for sure appreciate the support. The album is 10 songs that involve the idea of anitya in Buddhism that all things are impermanent. The album is acoustic folk rock that also integrates traditional east asian sounds and uses the chinese lute the pipa. Thank you for listening!

Watch out for the ghosts of Hollywood badboys.
