At its best our age is an age of searchers and discoverers, and at its worst, an age that has domesticated despair and learned to live with it happily. -Flannery O'Connor
silent film, foreign film, snooty period melodramas, canonized literature that I'll one day read, Edward Gorey, rabbits, Marc Chagall, Mucha and art nouveau in general, the Pre-Raphaelites, old stuff, new stuff (particularly slick industrial design that will sell for ten bucks at Target), Jane Austen, Sherlock Holmes, being married
Music
music rocks.
Movies
it's almost easier to list the films I don't like: horror/slasher films, wayans bros. comedies, most things depicting actresses like Julia Roberts or Meg Ryan in ludicrous romantic entanglements. all the rest is fair game.
Television
t.v.? do I like it? boy...! I love it every minute that it sucks the life out of me through my eyeballs.
Books
I don't like books.
Heroes
C.S. Lewis: brilliant summing up of the Faith, wonderful stories and a very well-posed arguement for why a follower of Christ can also enjoy a good pint at the pub.
Flannery O'Connor: for sledgehammer story-telling and no-bull bluntness
Audrey Hepburn: for reasons obvious and subtle
Batgirl: because she kicks ass, and she's a librarian.
seriously, though, I've found the majority of humanity to be pretty astounding (for good or ill) once you get a good look at 'em. also, of course, my brilliant husband Jay, for being the kind of guy who works harder than most of us could ever dream to, yet he still is coming home and making his dreamscape music--he manages this while still being so funny and silly and strange. Most people stagger me, once I give 'em a good and proper look.

About me: On good days, I write, paint, doodle on the piano and keep the kitchen clean. Bad days, I bathe the cat, get called by too many telemarketers and watch too much [bad]tv.
Sometimes, I'm at the library, shuffling through the books. Sometimes, I actually read books. Sometimes, I pretend that I'm going to write a book.
I have a splendid and talented husband, a partially bald cat and a mischievous housebunny.
it's a nice life.
Meeting at a production house. Turns out to be Charlie Chaplin's original 1917 studio. Then the home of A&M Records in the 60s. Now it houses Jim Henson Studios and there's a big Kermit on top of the entrance.
The Laugh Factory. Sunset Blvd. on Thanksgiving. A charity event to feed homeless people and then do a show. Dane Cook served the potatoes. But Paula Poundstone tried to skimp on my gravy.
The secret to my good hair is not washing it! Seriously. It's one of my sneaky tricks. Sometimes I will use a little hairspray to help it out, but usually not. There are some products you can use to mimic the unwashed look -- most people need to wash their hair more than I do -- let me know if you want me to dig through my room to find you some product names..
I've been thinkin of ya! Missed out on the trip to PA, just too much going on. I'm strangely, deeply disappointed. Really. My grandma n poppop are selling the house they've lived in in mercer since 1959. It leaves me with a weird feeling..
