Lyons & Tigers are the most entertaining band to ever come out of the jungle, Well ok, they're from Liverpool, but have you actually been there lately? They are a truly frightening sight with their wild eyes, fangs, claws and hairy chests, but if you feed them well I'm sure they'll behave like perfect gentlemen. An unconventional four piece line-up consisting of four vocalists, two keyboards, bass and guitar with Mr Yamaha hailing all the way from Tokyo showing off his excellence on the drum machine. In other words, they press a button at the start of a song and the drums begin... One thing is for certain, once you have witnessed a Lyons & Tigers show, you will be humming their bleedin songs in your head for weeks.
It is impossible to label their sound as they cover funk, rock, rap, ska, sea shantys, electronica, dance and gospel into an amalgamation of their own twisted creation. Yes a bit like Dr Frankenstein when he created his monster except not as ugly and with a bit more make up. Each song takes on a different style as their performances build up till they leave their crowd in a writhing sweaty cresciendo, and grinning their sexy little asses off.

I'm A Monkey is still a classic. Whereas bands like the Coral, the Zutons and the Beatles now seem dated and crap, I'm A Monkey is still a work of supreme genius. You should make it available for download though. At least on iTunes. I'd defo pay 79p for it.
