LYRICAL
is a well known Boston area emcee who has chart topping underground Hip Hop singles, an award winning album and scores of freestyle MC battle titles to his credit. If you are a Hip Hop fan you may have heard some of his early work, including the classic single “Butta Messenga” on the radio as far back as 1997 with his native Lowell based group X-Caliber. After moving from Lowell to Cambridge, Lyrical Lord Plourde became better known as "Lyrical" - and member of the group Invasion, which released several successful singles and performed in numerous shows all around New England. If you have never seen Lyrical perform as a solo artist you may have heard his name as a promoter in the Greater Boston area throwing hundreds of shows since 2003. As an executive member of The Mass Industry Committee he helped organize several networking parties and events, including the Mass Industry Committee Hip Hop Awards which he spearheaded in 2006.
Perhaps what distinguishes Lyrical the most from the average Hip Hop lyricist is his dedication to social reform and education. You may know him as Professor Lyrical if you are a student in the Boston area at one of the several colleges he has been contracted to teach various courses at. Lyrical has a Masters Degree in Mathematics, and a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts (Lowell). Over the last two plus years Lyrical has taught Entertainment Event Planning, Music Appreciation II, Hip Hop Culture & Lyricism, Musical Comedy, Geometry, Algebra, Statistics, Trigonometry, Convention Planning, Sports Entertainment Management, and Entertainment Internship Seminar, and all of these courses he taught while juggling a busy career as a Hip Hop artist and student himself at both UMass-Lowell and Harvard University. He has been a guest lecturer and speaker/performer at Harvard, Berklee, Northeastern, Bentley, and countless other area colleges.

I mean really is it? A couple of years ago, MySpace use to be where it’s at. Folks were conversing with each other, like really conversing. They were connecting with each other. MySpace use to be a place where like minded individuals could communicate and share interests. Man! I use to be put up on sooooo many indie bands through this site.
Nowadays, it seems as though most people are here solely to stunt and promote. Not that there is anything wrong with promoting. Hell, I always plug my going-ons on MySpace… Like my video blog --YouTube.com/ChasityChaos (shameless self-promotion). This is a great venue to make people aware of happenings, but what happened to the real connections? What happened to the dialog? What happened to the silliness? I miss it!
These days, I spend more time on FaceBook (FaceBook.com/ChasityChaos). So much time, that I have actually been contemplating the necessity of my MySpace page… So I am writing this message to ask all of the MySpacers of the world… Should I give up on MySpace, delete my page and turn to another social site for nourishment, or do you feel in your heart of hearts that there is a possibility of MySpace being resurrected?
