I am a poetic humorist & singer/songwriter who combines the elements of spoken word poetry, comedy & music into an artform often referred to as COMETRI. After years of prowling the stages of practically every spoken word venue in Southern California and a stint as co-host of BAAKKSTREEET COMTERI NIGHTS at THE COMEDY STORE in Hollywood, I formed the artistic collective LYRICALLY SPEAKING WITH BARRY MILLER & FRIENDS, where world class poets meet world class musicians and deliver kick ass entertainment. The gigs at the Comedy Store led to a LYRICALLY SPEAKING TV program that features, along with myself, such poetic giants as BRUTHA GIMEL, THEA MONYEE, GAKNU, JOSH SILVERTEEN, SCOTT KAESTNER, JULIE BEMIS and the band DRIVING WORDS. CALE , is the man who Beatle GEORGE HARRISON credited for teaching him slide guitar in his autobiography "I, ME, MINE" and has been quoted as saying that my music "touched my heart deeply"....and blues harmonica legend JIMMY Z who has recorded with the likes of DR. DRE, ROD STEWART, TOM PETTY, THE EURYTHMICS, ZIGGY MARLEY, MACY GRAY, blues diva ETTA JAMES and recently was kind enough to refer to me as "a great songwriter....let me know when you want to work together".~~~~~My art reflects my nearly half century of living, loving, laughing and crying and it is my profound hope that if you welcome me to stroll inside your soul it will bring a grin above your chin and a tap to your toe .~~~~
