Highly Rated presents Project "Blackstars", which include two brothers; Xploder and D.Dark, as well as Beckz. This CD has 19 tracks of fire with a listener friendly side to it. It also contains a few cover tracks but is predominantly Grime, with production from Blackjack, D.Dark, DVA and Revolver and features Vortex, Yazmine, Darkboi, Mehnaz and many more.
Aspiring artist, "Xploder" aka "X", hailing from East London has been on the musical circuit for the past 4 years. First started MCing and producing on his own then introduced to the infamous 'Highly Rated Camp' where he took his music more further, at this time he was working and practicing alongside best friend Beckz Winter and brother 'D.Dark', who were also part of different groups.
Xploder has gradually worked his way up the musical ladder of the underground and has appeared on pirate and internet radio stations such as Mystic Fm, Deja Vu, Rinse Fm, Heat Fm, Axe Fm and Manic Fm. Also he has made appearances on BBC 1XTRA, Kiss Fm and Radio 1.
To date Xploder has appeared in 2 music videos one of which was his debut single' They Don't Know' taken from his Mix CD "The Big Bang Theory", which appeared on Channel U in 2005 gaining number 11 in the Top 20 Charts. The other video was a track put together by Xploder and brought together 'Highly Rated' artist "Mistri", Crazy Titch and Kids In Hood artists "Vortex" and "Darkboi". This video gained number 8 in the Top 20 Charts on Channel U in its first week of release.
Not being a shy character of the camera he has appeared on underground DVD's such as Risky Roads, B.A.R.S, Lord of the Decks and Sidewinder tape-packs. Also keen on acting look out for Xploder in various films and shows due to be screened from next year.
After taking a break from the music industry and focusing on other aspects in life, Xploder is now back to set a mark with a high work rate and with many projects in the pipeline there is no reason why this artist should fade away into the unknown space of music.
Forthcoming Mix CD to look out for: X Marks the Spot due in 2008.
Airflex Labs is a new successful French Dubstep orientated label and you ll be very surprised to discover their two actual releases!Nekochan s debut "Vahine/Wise" sets the expectations for her future production. The crossover of Electronica and Dubstep styled pattern served with Wise sets the perfect picture for her hi-pitched voice to be laid on. On the other hand, Led Piperz is back with his new 2 tracker EP "Plan B", and it s a trippy dance floor one ! Review: "Don Goliath's "Bagstep EP" (DDR030) is one of those innovative EPs showcasing how versatile Dubstep can get. The unique idea of creating Dubstep versions of celctic (Irish as well as Scottish) folk classics for all you drunkards longing to sing along was Don Goliath's motto when producing this madness. The concept is as simple as effective: he picked 4 of your grandpa's favourites such as "Old Skibbereen", "Scotland the Brave", "Drunken Sailor" and "Amazing Grace" having the melody played by a definitly non-sober Bagpipe section and then layering it with lofi mid range wobbleism - we therefor call it Bagstep. Overall production quality is high grade with that intense sub focus so you can blow-dry your hair right in front of the bass bins. Now let's get into the tunes: "Skibbereen Bagstep" is one of the melancolic minor tunes expressing Irish history as it is. It is an unmixable 3/4 waltz beat at unusual 154bpm, well dancebal though when one moves to the triplets. "Bagstep the brave" should be one of the sickest rebuilds of the Scottish national anthem making it Mel Gibson's signature tune if he had one. "Drunken Bagstep" is a Glitchfest version of the sailors anthem capable of getting you uberdrunk by listening alone, Arrrr! "Amazing Bagstep" is as religious as it gets making it a tune that'll certainly safe xamounts of lost souls. Enjoying the dancefloor got even easier now: drink out the bar, make your skirt fly and sing along to these (future) classics! Some will hate this release and some will love it, there barely is anything in between. All Dubstep Division crew salutes the latter as our fellow beerheadz! cheeeeeerz!"
