Ampel is cheerful, bright, mainly acoustic pop wrapped up in wry guitar lines overlapping each other and with a lot of jumpy bass melodies. The two front figures of this quintet, Kasper and Ditte sing melodic ditties about the drollness of life without ever over analysing it.
Besides this the funny stage set up creates unexpectedly great variations, and by using a wide variety of analogue instruments such as violin, recorder, jew's harp, accordion and melodica and having a rhythm section consisting of only a snare drum, a floor tom and some worn out brushes we are a rare act.
In Ampel we take our coffee in many different ways; black, with milk, with milk and sugar, with powdered milk out of a foldable cup or not at all; how do you like yours?

Argh! den tredje indie-pop koncert (efter Soda Fountain Rag og Lady Bug Transistor) jeg er gået glip af for nyligt! Denne gang, dog, pga. forkølelse - så det positive ved mit fravær i går var vel, at ingen er blevet smittet :-) Håber at se Jer live igen snart... måske til en evt. release party/koncert for "Don't Quit..." kompilationen?
