(français plus bas) mineminemine is an artist collective, existing since 1999, which has performed within various sound performance and art-action events. It features Magali Babin, Éric Létourneau and Alexandre St-Onge. The approach of the trio is based on sound-oriented performance art, whereby the relationship between sound and performing action is ritualised by the exploration of acoustic characteristics specific to the space where the action takes place.
The use of amplification and the transformation of sound is linked to the performing activity. The actions thus created focus on the phenomenological aspect of the diffusion of sound elements in an architectural The interrelational elements also contribute in shaping the sound diffusion in the performance space.

(English higher) Description : "Sur la mezzanine du Westwerk, une tête de cerf convertie en marionnette pousse avec son museau des feuilles d’érables mortes qui s’accumulent sur le plancher du bas. L’homme en habit de skidoo prend avec sa bouche les feuilles et va les déposer devant l’homme en chemise de chasse afin que celui-ci les ramasse à son tour et les crache à l’extérieur dans le canal du port situé tout juste sous la fenêtre de la galerie. Des microphones disposés dans la bouche des performeurs et à l’extérieur du théâtre (pointant vers le canal) viennent amplifier l’action. Ces sources sont traitées électroniquement par le biais de lutheries analogiques et numériques. Une action parallèle est aussi exécutée par une femme en habit de skidoo (rappelant vaguement par ailleurs une péripatéticienne au travail). Elle manipule sensuellement avec les pieds un tas de feuilles mortes. Cette action est amplifiée grâce à des microphones disposés sous les feuilles et au bout de ses chaussures."
The collective aims to develop works which tie together space, the presence of the body and the diffusion of sound resulting of a given performance activity. This approach leaves it up to the public to develop their own mode of perception of physical space, thanks to the staging of sound in an artistic practice based on behaviour. The collective also works with the medium of radio (Radio-Canada, CKUT-FM in Montréal, and Kunstradio in Austria) to create performances where the relationship to the body, time and space is tied to that of the process of radio diffusion.

Un performeur habillé d'une chemise et pourvu d'un collier muni d'un foetoescipe collé sur sa veine jugulaire diffuse le son de ses pulsations cardiaque tout en traversant leur espace . L’action se termine lorsque celui-ci a traversé l’espace dans son entier."
