Lyz Soto is a Spoken Word Artist and Executive Director of Youth Speaks Hawai..i. She has performed in a variety of venues from the Hawai..i to New York, from classrooms to stages. Lyz wrote and performed "Memory", a two woman spoken movement piece with Jamie Nakama, for GiRL FeST Hawai..i. She represented Hawai..i as a member of the 2007 Hawai..i Slam Team in Austin, Texas. In 2008, Lyz had the privilege of coaching the Youth Speaks Hawai..i Slam Team. In July of 2008, this team, comprised of 5 youths from across the island of Oahu, won at the 11th annual Brave New Voices Poetry Slam Festival in Washington DC.
