Combine two of Nelson, BC’s most talented and multi-faceted female artists and you get a stunning mixture of MCing, DJing, percussion, live vocals, and deep soul-satisyfing beats. Uniting the elements of old school Hip-Hop, R&B, Reggae, Dance Hall, Glitch Hop, Electro, and House, Luscious Beats delivers a fierce and sultry fusion of sound. Melissa Meretsky aka M3 of ‘Wassabi Collective’, brings her full percussion set up sponsored by Mountain Rhythm, while Erica Dee aka Dee Selectress drops the beats for the Luscious duo. Together these ladies combine rich vocals, smooth harmonies, and sweet MC styles to create a highly energetic and infectious performance. Touring with a full visual light show that fuses elements of live feed, original footage, stock footage, lighting, and shadow screens, Luscious Beats beautifully crafts a performance that is undeniably raw and captivating.
Performing together for over 5 years, M3 and Erica Dee have successfully developed a collaboration that is highly original and honors their diversity as musicians. Both women have been passionately exploring and experimenting with music since youth and have been blessed by many memorable collaborations and performances that have greatly attributed to their growth as musicians. Melissa of Wassabi Collective has been playing shows for over 15 years performing alongside, and opening for artists such as; K-os, Michael Franti, Adham Shaikh, Lorin Bassnectar, Balkin Beatbox, Knan, Hot Hot Heat, as well as playing many other venues and festivals all over North America. Erica Dee Aka Dee Selectress has been singing and MCing with a variety of live projects since she was 16 and has played with, and opened for such artists as; Lyrics Born of Blackalicious, Spindarella of Salt & Pepper, The Pocket Dwellers, Mat the Alien, Stanton Warriors, Scream,and many more, playing all over North and South America. Within one year, Luscious Beats has toured all over B.C. and has played both the Shambhala Music Festival and the Mogul Smoker where they linked up with DJ Nu Mark of Jurassic 5 who claims these two are “a breath of fresh air.”
United by the intention to entertain and inspire, this exceptional duo naturally illuminates and transforms sound into a mixture of smooth vocals, conscious raps, and explosive percussion. Beautifully fusing both sound and soul, Miss M3 and Erica Dee are an undeniable force that is only just beginning to pick up speed. Consistently delivering a sound that is unique and raw, these ladies are undoubtedly one of Canada’s most original and awe-inspiring acts in music today. stable artists, Jahson Ites, Huckleberry, and Essential I and a full
array of top global Reggae artists. Pulling together the best Reggae
artists from the Pacific Northwest (Adrian Xavier), Humboldt County,
California (Ishi Dube, Jah Sun), SF Bay Area (Wisdom), Brooklyn, NY
(Rocker T) and the four corners of the Earth: Lutan Fyah, Chezidek,
Half Pint, Prezident Brown (Jamaica), Haji Mike (Cyprus), Ras Attitude
(U.S. Virgin Islands), Ms Triniti (Trinidad), Promoe (Sweden) and
Elaine Shepherd (Canada), was a natural for the CD project in the
spirit of the label’s World C.U.P. (World Consciousness Unification
Project) vision for global unity through conscious Reggae music.
