Interests

  • General

    Photography and music of course, but I also pay attention to the news and I try to stay informed. I love avaition and I was once a pilot, but can no longer afford it. I love learning, and this whole digital thing with cameras and computers is blowing my mind. I'm an analog man trapped in a digital world just trying to figure it all out.

  • Music

    I'm a Deadhead, I enjoy jam bands and acoustic music. I play guitar and I love to sing songs about things that matter. Lets be kind and say my voice is unique, and leave it at that. I love Woody Guthrie's music and I'm getting into much of the Red Dirt Oklahoma sound. Also Arlo Guthrie, CSN&Y, John Prine, Chris Kristofferson, Jimi Hendrix, Nancy Griffith, Randy Crouch, Bruce Hornsby, The Red Dirt Rangers, The Rexall Rangers, and so on and so forth.

  • Movies

    Dr. Strangelove, Cool Hand Luke, Bladerunner, Shawshank Redemption, Fried Green Tomatos, Star Trek,"The Wrath of Kahn", Goodnight and Good Luck, Serinity.

  • Television

    All the CSI's, the History Channel, National Geographic Channel, and PBS.

  • Books

    Mostly photography oriented, either tech stuff or the coffee table type pictorial books. I'm working on having a pretty decent library of those kinds of books. I've also just finished "Altrenitive Oklahoma", a collection of essays on Oklahoma History that you won't find in textbooks. I'm currently reading "Woody Guthrie, A Life".

About me:

I'm a photographer. I make photos not because I want to, but because I have to. When my dear late artist friend Claude Anderson explained that to me, things started to become so much more clear. The photos I make are mostly of the things and the people around me. Sometimes I make photos of the things that anger me. I've been witness to the horrific and the beautiful, the sad and the joyful. I love music(folk, Americana, Red Dirt, Blues, and Rock n' Roll). I've played the guitar since I can remember. My sense of humor is a bit skewed, to put it mildly, and I do love to laugh and cause other people to laugh. If I hear an airplane engine, I have to look up. I just can't help it. I'm a liberal Democrat and I make no bones about it. ..

Real people, smart people, people who can make me laugh, and people who can challenge me. People who see through the crap that's put out there for the public to ingest, and then try to figure out the truth, whatever that is.     I am about half way done with my latest update to my page. Come take a peek and listen to the first song from my up and comming cd. Right now the release date is in December.

    A new feature I have added is you can now post your favorite song from my playlist to your profile.

    My theme is fall, with the songs having a since of wanderlust.
