The band’s versatility is evident as their live sets often combine music from today’s mainstream Celtic bands such as The Waterboys and The Proclaimers with well known favorites, a good dose of jigs and reels, and many forgotten Celtic tunes.
With the release of their first project, the CD Aon, MacCana emerges as one of the finest bands in the Hudson Valley’s Celtic music culture. In MacCana, we hear the rhythm & bass guitars blend with mandolin, tin whistle and a driving fiddle to create an invigorating “old meets new” Celtic sound over the drums. Variety in lead vocalists and woven harmonies add to the fullness of their music.
