Our goal is to play 99% 1990's and newer hard rock. At a MACHINE show you will most likely hear music by: Seether, Three Day's Grace, Bush, Live, STP, Disturbed, Korn, ETC..... You will very likely not hear any Classic rock. We feel that the genre is over represented. If you are looking for something off the beaten path, check us out. Remember, YOU are in control of the quality of live music in the Rogue Valley. Support your favorite bands!!!
In the mid 1990's Michael Parker and Daniel Curren began playing music together in Southern Oregon. After a few years, several bands, and many personnel changes, Boy Elroy was formed. At that time there were SEVERAL classic rock radio stations in the Rogue Valley and almost no support for what was new and exciting in the hard rock world. Grunge and alternative rock had not yet reached the airwaves in Southern Oregon. Boy Elroy decided they should try to bring some of this brand of music to the bars and clubs in the valley. It wasn't easy. Many of the clubs and patrons were not ready to get out of their comfort zone. The process was slow and painful ( for us at least ) and many a ZZ Top and Rolling Stones song still had to be mixed in with the newer music. But eventually the people began to know what to expect from Boy Elroy, and we were able to play 90's music almost excusively. This went on for a few years. We ventured out of the valley, up the coast and into Washington for a few jobs. In late 2000 or early 2001 internal tensions caused a split and the band broke up. Fast forward to mid 2007. Dan and Mike decided 6 years was a long enough break and began looking to put together another band. The next year was spent searching for the other half of the equation. After several false starts and near misses we finally found the sweet rythem section we were looking for in drummer Danny Keys and bass master Justin Spilman. We had our MACHINE. Once again our goal is to make ourselves happy by playing music that we enjoy. Newer rock with a hard edge. We hope that the energy and fun we get out of playing will be felt and reflected in the audience. Enjoy the show!!
