MACHINE is an artist development company. By following the forward thinking, simple concept of one company taking care of all the artists’ needs, the foundation of MACHINE was created. Founded in 2001, MACHINE represents a modern business model which was created from the ground up to integrate artist management, record label, booking agent, recording studio and publishing administrator into one efficient, and effective enterprise to work as a true partner with a select roster of empowered independent artists.
machine
n. 2: an intricate organization that accomplishes its goals efficiently.
With an appreciation for irony and a dry sense of humor the name Machine was chosen for the company. Knowing the negative connotations the word may have when associated with not only art and entertainment -with its political and corporate stigmas - but also with music created by machines, we started this independent record company to instead mean something quite different.
First and foremost, we are fans of music. The company is a small group of like-minded individuals who share a love and passion for great, timeless music be it rock that infuses eccentric pop sensibilities or passionate and thought-provoking acoustic-driven material. This is why we got into the business.
Simply put, we believe a DIY, indie spirit will produce better art. We encourage and believe that some of the best creative ideas come from open discussion, a collective effort and honest hard work. Our goal is to create a comfortable, yet productive working environment for our select roster of talented solo artists and bands (who we not only love and admire, but are also lucky enough to call our friends), while at the same time keeping the intended vision of the music intact.
Giving our best effort, we will then actively promote and deliver, in an effective and efficient way, this music to their fans; always working with integrity and an emphasis on building careers for the artists we represent.
We hope you enjoy the music we love. And for those of you who do [in the words of Roger Waters] ...Welcome to the Machine....

:: this other life that beckons us and lets us ride free. lets us take a part of ourselves to better the world, better our craft. it’s an inner struggle – remembering smiles of those you love under starry skies, longing to be back with them, and knowing what you’re doing is making a difference in the world. just as the road leads you away, though, it brings you back to the things that matter. the same things that got you from city lights to mountaintops and a thousand miles back again ::
