GERMAN: „MacoRas“ begann seine Musik Karriere bereits im jungen Alter in seinem Heimatland Nigeria. Er fand schnell seine erste Position als Sänger in seiner Schulzeit bei der Schulband den „Di Skalice Force“. Mit Ihnen spielte MacoRas so einige Konzerte bei denen er lehrenswerte Erfahrungen sammelte. Nach seinem Abschluss, zog es MacoRas wie so viele Musiker vom übersichtigen Landleben in die Großstadt, genau gesagt nach „Benin-City“. Dort besuchte er 1991 zusammen mit einigen Freunden die bekannte Musikschule „Eno Music Mind Akademie“. Nach einiger Zeit zog es den spirituellen Sänger zusammen mit einigen Freunden nach „Lagos“ in die Hauptstadt Nigerias um dort endlich seine Leidenschaft zum Beruf zu machen. Nach hunderten von Auftritten im gesamten westlichen Teil Afrikas und nach vielen entscheidenden Erfahrungen zog es, den nun bereits herangereiften und erfahrenden Musiker, nach Europa, wo er zunächst Konzerte in Italien spielte. Nach schwierigen Anfangszeiten und weiteren musikalischen Erfahrungen in vielen Städten Deutschlands, fand er schließlich seinen Platz der hiesigen Reggaeszene um bis in die weite Welt vorzustoßen. Es folgten endlich die ersten Studioaufnahmen für seine Demoplatte in den „Bellyman Studios“ die nun bereits komplett fertig gestellt wurde. Zusammen mit dem „I Soul Reggae“ Soundsystem bereiste er fortan das Land und brachte so einige Locations zum kochen. Für das „I Soul Reggae“ Soundsystem sang MacoRas zusammen mit Reggaegrößen wie zum Beispiel „Michael Rose“, „Jah Mason“ und auch „Cali P“ so einige Combination Dub-Plates ein. Im November 2006 folgte der Hit-Tune „We Love Jah“ der auf dem One Riddim Sampler „Ice Ice“ erschien und auf der Wintertour 2006 als Support für „Yah Meek“, „Marlene Johnson“, „Jah Sesco“ und der „House Of Riddim“ Band für Furore sorgte. MacoRas ist ein sehr spiritueller Musiker, was sich auch beim hören seiner Melodien und Texte zeigt. Mit seiner vielseitigen Stimme zieht MacoRas seine Zuhörer vom ersten Moment an in den Bann des One Drop, und führt Sie durch die gesamte Bannbreite des Reggae. Über gefühlvolle Roots Balladen hinzu kraftvollen Dancehall Einlagen führt der gebürtige Nigerianer sein Publikum durch eine Show voller Spirit und Power. Derzeit arbeitet „MacoRas“ an seinem Album welches 2009 erscheinen wird.
ENGLISH: Michael Ahusimhenre Onokhua a.k.a. MACORAS: Was Born to the Family of Onokhua in a Ghetto called Ahia, in Ishan South East Local Government Ubiaja in Edo State Nigeria. MacoRas did his Secondary School Level, Then while in School he was a member of a School Band Called "The Skalic Force" Which he played an important role as Lead Singer. Went into Meditation Deep inna Communication to the most divine... Jah Rastafari who said to the i... come my Servant and give praises to his Majesty, seen... So he met a Friend living ina same Neighbourhood with the same thought and Vision. So they both started by teaching one-another some Chords on Guitar and writing of Songs and Things like that. After doing this for a couple of Months they decided to visit a bigger City called Benin-City, there you find the most Talented Artist in their Country.There they form a Group called "The Red Warrior" and later change the name to "Soul Cryers". Now me inna foreign to answer the call of his Majesty Mission by spreading oneness, one love to Mankind living far and near, Judgement is a must. Later, in Germany, he went to a Park for some Meditations. There he met a Guy who invited him to there Studio Rehearsal in Braunschweig which he did and try some Choruses with them and later called him for Master Recordings where he also met with Dj Danny, they both had some Discussions that faithful Day and after that the real Thing began... Now we build up a Family Foundation called "The I Soul Reggae Family" . MacoRas made a conbination DUB-PLAT with MYKAL ROSE & JAH MASON @ 2006 for i-soul reggae sound...He played an opening show for "DERRICK MORGAN" Europe tour in 09...We are calling everyone poor or rich, young or old, Man and Woman, black and white.....
MacoRas ist wahlweise mit Soundsystem oder Live Band zu buchen. "I Soul Reggae" begleitet MacoRas bei den Soundsystem Shows. MacoRas tourt unter anderem mit der "Yardvibes Crew" als Backing Band.
