Without fantasy there would be nothing; man would have stayed up the trees, never ventured into the cave, Einstein would have foregone his relativity, Christ his ascension, Leonardo his Mona Lisa, Hitler his Third Reich and Betty Ford her clinic. - The KLF
Formed in 2004 by brothers Mark & David Early, Small Meltdown performed one show together opening for the Slats and Shed Shot featuring Mark on guitar and noises and David on turntables. Later that year they got together with friends and recorded the song "XVIIImas" for the annual Bert Dax Christmas CD. Shortly thereafter, David retired from performing music. Mark performed several shows as part of the Bert Dax Calvacade of Stars Christmas specials and guested on Bunnygrunt's "Karen Hater's Club" CD on Happy Happy Birthday To ME Records.
In 2005, Mark regrouped as Macro Meltdown and played some shows featuring Ben West on noise, Tim Arnette on guitar and himself on noises and toy piano. He is currently working on songs that bridge the areas between electronic noises, feedback and the natural tones of toy piano and organ. He hopes to add several other people to the mix to flesh out a "bigger" sound. The most important aspect of any Macro Meltdown show is the possible outcome of breaking down into an incoherent mess. So far, Macro Meltdown has narrowly straddled that fine division between pure noise and actual melody.
Macro Meltdown now exists as a reason for various performers to experience where time turns and makes people forget.
Macro Meltdown is a post-apocalyptic folk band.
"play a few dates"...nice word choice, Mark. I'll bet she's "played" a few dates already! On another note: I am getting a real kick outta her "new" fans that have only heard "Chick Habit" on the Deathproof soundtrack. Here's one quote: "Chick Habit has a real 1920s feel to it! Genius!" I'm thinking, "WTF? 1920s? Was that person even around in the 1920s?"
2. Just got back from ATL. Andre3000 says...ummm...*fumbles for matchbook from Decatur emporium*...ummm...he says, "high"...and something about "Roeva playa owe bad dawg Big Boi some serious $"(?) I don't get that one. And...most importantly:
3. April March friended me AND she has a new record out. I'm feeling dizzy now.
