Goodbye from Mad Aleck
August 2005
After 17 months together, Mad Aleck has called it quits. After playing 34 shows over the past 11 months for hundreds of people, the band members need to move in different directions. We apologize for the short notice. We do wish we could have arranged some sort of farewell show, but it can't be done. Nick has decided it is in his best interest to move to Baltimore. We all wish Nick the best with this change in scenery. We shall remain friends and all of us plan on keeping close with music.
We would like to thank everyone for supporting us. We've had some great friends and fans at our shows over the past year.
Our last show was Sunday July 31st up in Grand Rapids at Ten Bells. The show was put on by WGRD and our entire set was recorded for consideration on the 2005 WGRD Bootleg CD. So Mad Aleck is coming to end, but we have a chance to live on a little longer thru a kickass CD full of amazing artists. We will let you know if/when we get selected. If we don't get selected, the recordings will still be available to us and we will make the available to everyone out there.
We will be keeping the website up and our myspace account, so feel free to give us some love. Go ahead and tell us how much you love your Mad Aleck.
Once again, we'd like to thank everyone for everything.
Mad Aleck Mad Aleck formed in February of 2004 in a dank basement. Shortly after
inception the air was filled with catchy and addictively natured rock and
roll. Mad Aleck brings to the table a mixture of sound and genres.
Starting with the passionate vocals and rolling guitar riffs and backed by
simple bass progression and masterful drums, Mad Aleck is here to stay.
