Shawn you will be missed. Mood: depressed

I have been just about everything in my lifetime and am pretty complex. I have recently chosen to live my life the way I want to. I will no longer conform to what others expect of me and I will work only to make my child, myself and my friends happy.
I've been in business management since I was 18. Wore the suit, hose, heels, and bun when my friends were wearing club clothes. I was a devoted wife for 15 years and I sold my soul to raise an AMAZING daughter. She will always be the reason why I was put on this earth. Recently I was fortunate enough to get out of the conforming corporate world and go to school fulltime. I now look forward to a career where I don't have to apologize for loving music and body art and 10 a.m. wake-up calls. I won't continue being on a cattle drive; fighting traffic, or the man, every day. I sold my race/show car, after being in the motorsport scene since I was 13, to pay for my prison break. By releasing myself from the tomboy alter-ego, I've learned to love my feminine side. I'm getting good at it, too! I plan to open my salon by the end of the year and I'm excited about this newfound chance to be ME.
I've learned a lot over the years, about people and business. What I've found is that they're very similar - Cut throat and full of drama. But I'm not bitter or jaded. The sky is the limit for my future and I plan to enjoy the ride until I reach the road's end. You're more than welcome to sit shotgun. But those who do should pack lightly - because I no longer have space for baggage. Cheers!
THAT'S MY KID SINGING IN MY PROFILE! She's doing side projects as practice while she gets better with her guitar. This kid is THE coolest person I know. I'm in awe of her every single day. I think her dad and I raised her to be an individual because we were forced to conform so much. She is the byproduct of what he and I both wanted for ourselves. She usually has the pipes of Amy Lee (Evanescence) but it was nice to hear her experiment with something different for "Run for the Rise". This was just a practice recording. I'll post up anything she does for her solo projects.
I loooove listening to live metal/rock. Preferably in an intimate venue, such as Reno's Chop Shop or The Curtain Club. And always The Palladium Ballroom for larger shows. Venues mean as much to me as the music. I ONLY listen to thrash metal live. For such extreme music, I need to feel it through their own sound system and through the vibe off their fans. Dallas is THE most boring city I've ever lived in, especially for music. So it's a real treat to find badass bands playing in the area. Definitely drop me a line if you play live so I can make it out to see your band next!
Shinedown, Three Days Grace, Rage Against The Machine, TOOL, Coheed & Cambria, The Beautiful Disaster, Thaxton, Vallejo, KORN, Tantric, Escape The Fate, Opeth, Breaking Benjamin, Rob Thomas, Lifehouse, Tonic, Incubus, Godsmack, Evans Blue, Chevelle, Hollywood Undead, Godsmack, 10 Years, Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, Walls of Jericho...
And a wide range of others...from sappy-tear-in-your-beer to melt-your-face-metal. Even country. I enjoy having a diverse playlist 'cause then I can find something to match any mood!
